Jimothy Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 Justin Edinburgh dies aged 49: Leyton Orient boss and former Tottenham defender passes away - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48568007 Wasn't sure where to put as we don't have a League 2 2109/20 thread and seemed a sad note to start it on. 49 is no age
David Guiza Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 Blimey, that is sad. I was only reading about him being taken unwell the other day. I'm a little too young for the vast majority of playing career and only really know from the League Cup final onwards, but understand he was a bit of a Steve Walsh type.
Unabomber Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 Very sad news RIP I didn’t even know that he had had a heart attack, there wasn’t a lot of coverage on it.
Fox92 Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 Jesus man. He's done incredible to get Orient back into the league too. Very sad.
Super_horns Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 Remember him at Spurs and was doing well with Orient . Very sad and sudden .
HybridFox Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 Heartbreaking news for anyone connected to him. Leaving a fantastic legacy of having taken Orient back into the Football League
urban.spaceman Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 Just posted in the deathlist thread. What a ****ing awful year for football this has been. Vichai, Sala, Reyes all killed in tragic accidents, now a young manager in his prime.
Nalis Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 So sad, he seems like a gentleman in interviews and did a great job at Orient. No age to go.
StanSP Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 Very sad to read. Knew he'd gone to hospital earlier this week but didn't know it was a cardiac arrest. Only 49 RIP.
EastAnglianFox Posted 8 June 2019 Posted 8 June 2019 Remember him for being a solid old school full back at Spurs and that encounter with Savage at Wembley. Always came across really well in interviews id seen. Very sad indeed
UniFox21 Posted 9 June 2019 Posted 9 June 2019 Horrible news to see, as mentioned, taken way too young. RIP. Feel for everyone involved at the club having to pick themselves up and go again in a few months.

Realistically they need a replacement in ASAP, but I doubt the board really want to think about it right now.

Can imagine Martin Ling will probably take over the reins in the interim. He's already there as Director of Football and has managed them before.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 9 June 2019 Posted 9 June 2019 Just saw this in the interval in the football, really sad, no age at all ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but think had heard somewhere that he stepped aside away from being football manager due to depression/stress? Can see it being someone as a player-manager; not that it matters after what happened now, for sure..
