Exactly. We spread out the risk across multiple players who had the ability to score/assist, rather than having all our eyes in one (sulking) basket.

Harsh. Our policy for a while now hasn't been flawed, on the contrary it's been very good. Who on earth would have been available to fill Marhez's shoes that was reasonable in price who would have been gagging to come to Leicester City at that time?  Sometimes you can't just have a replacement up your sleeve. Aruguably anyway we'd need a different type of player to succeed in Rodgers system of playing.

 

In Ricardo and Maddison we bought two players who have improved the team as a whole and who are now worth double what we got for Marhez. I call that really good business.

As an Anderlecht fan, I will be watching a lot of LCFC matches if Praet signs.

To see him and Tielemans in the same squad again will be great.

 

I see a lot of people not really knowing Praet, but trust me, if you like Youri, you will like Praet as well.

They have the same football intelligence and philosophy, allthough they are different types of midfielders.

Praet is more an "8", very strong in recovering the ball, very much energy, he can just keep going, so PL football will absolutely be no problem for him.

At the same time he is very skilled on the ball, he almost never loses one and has good dribbling skills, that's why he played as a left midfielder a lot at Anderlecht and he did that very well. (sometimes even better than his central midfielder role)

Has a good cross as well, allthough not as good as Tielemans.

I think Tielemans is less good defensive wise, but has the better last pass in his left AND right foot and has the better cross and shot at goal. (so better offensive wise than Praet)

If you would ask me who's the best? I'd say Tielemans without a doubt, because he also has a lot of progression margin left and is already this good, but Praet comes close :)

They both were part of one of the worst periods in Anderlecht times (squad quality I mean) and were always able to stand out, even if they were surrounded by so little quality of their team mates.

 

In Belgium there was a lot of criticism on his stats as well, as I have read here also, but that never bothered me, because he always brought quality and made sure other players came into position to give that last pass or score the goal.

 

Too close this off: the "e" in his name, means you have to prolong the "a", so it's actually pronounced Praat, not Prat or Pra-et.

Hopefully Tielemans and Praet our best buddies and if we keep Tielemans happy, the longer he might stay! I'm sure he will be wanting to play Champions League soon but if we can get 2 seasons out of him and double or money, then I'll be very happy!
