Just sat down to watch a game in the newly formed Australian Championship this afternoon, not knowing many of the players, one name instantly rang a bell and PTSD - in goal for APIA Leichhardt - the name Kalac! Turns out it’s Oliver, son of the number one goalkeeper in any worst Leicester XI. Hopefully, no Leicester scouts in attendance.

Would have Kalac over Ward any day. In the actual XI not the worst one

Yeah, he wasn't that bad was he? Plenty of shite before him. Names like Ricardo, Pressman, Nielsen, Douglas easily ahead of him.

His biggest claim to fame for us was probably coming on as sub for a penalty shoot out that never happened in the play off final against Palace.

He was dreadful for us. Probably the worst performing goalkeeper in our history - think he made only two appearances where he was just absolutely gash. But as above would take him over Ward any day.

Admittedly my only memory of him was the dub appearance. I was too young to remember anything else. Unfortunately was not too you to remember the rest, including Pressman being lobbed from a goal kick (is that actually correct? As I'm typing it, it sounds to mental to be true). Ward is just beyond words. I don't hate the man, he's doing his best, he's just shite. Anyone who picks him for consecutive games should not consider themselves a professional football manager.

I remembered that lob,  I think it was by Lonergan of Preston.   While looking it up,I discovered Lonergan is still playing, at Everton now!

We signed Pressman at the end of his career though. Prior to that he had been a successful top flight keeper. Really harsh to put him in our worse ever given he was signed by us when he was about 36. I know we still had Walker then so Pressman was only signed as cover but how anyone expects a 36 year old keeper to be decent at that level is beyond me. But back then we loved signing established players at the end of their careers (Curtis and Howey spring to mind). But yes he conceded a goal to Andy Lonergon, who I recall being a decent goalkeeper himself.

Compare to someone like Ward who we had in his 20's/early 30's and still diabolic. I would say he is our worse goalkeeper I've seen.

He was pretty bad. Indecisive and positioning all over the place. He clearly improved given he went on to play in the Champions League and at the World Cup (although I remember him having a nightmare for Australia in 2006 too) but this is easily as bad as Ward v Wolves, even if David Lowe let him down a bit for the second.

Danny Ward is not a good goalkeeper but he is many many levels above that!

Hilarious viewing.

As one of the 14,884 poor sods who witnessed Kalac bumbling around like he was wearing roller skates that night, this has brought back floods of long suppressed trauma. Thanks.

I was another. I remember Neville Foulger on the end of season review

My favourite bit is even though the audio's crap, I think it's Colin Hill plays a back pass back to Kalac and you can hear the Kop collectively shit itself lol

Nugent signed as player coach at Anstey Nomads. He's joining Conrad Logan as part of coaching team albeit Conrad has retired

Does anyone here go down to nomads games? Surely he tears it up at that level

I go whenever Leicester aren't playing. Nugent hasn't played a minute yet so time will tell.

Conrad was levels above in fairness. He got abused on a weekly basis about his weight but he's clearly head and shoulders above the rest.

He's not played in 5 years, so it depends on how much he's been enjoying his retirement I guess!

It's 7th tier, so it's not like he's playing against hungover binmen. I went to a couple of games in the division above them last season and was impressed at the standard.
