Yohan Benalouane has joined Aris Thessaloniki after leaving Nottingham Forest

Leicester City title-winner Yohan Benalouane is "ready to write a great story" with new club Aris Thessaloniki.

The 33-year-old defender has joined the Greek club, after leaving Nottingham Forest by mutual consent last week, on a contract until the summer of 2022.

"The transfer of Yohan Benalouane was completed tonight in Athens in the presence of the General Manager of PAE ARIS, Agisilaos Toumazatos," said Aris.


"The new transfer acquisition of our team will be integrated in the trainings on Friday, after first settling some of his personal obligations."

"The start of a new challenge, ready to write a great story! Thanks to all for the very warm welcome," said Benalouane, who played four times in the league for the Foxes during the season they won the Premier League, on Instagram.

Seeing as he's being lined up as the next club ambassador I hope he's got something about him.

Leicester City favourite David Nugent is set to team up with former team-mate Paul Gallagher at Preston.

Nugent, who scored 59 goals in 180 City appearances, is a free agent after his release by Derby this summer.

But the 34-year-old striker is set for a quick return to the Championship with a move to his old club Preston almost complete, LancsLive report.

Nugent is said to have undergone a medical and was pictured talking to former City team-mate Gallagher before Preston’s pre-season friendly against AFC Fylde on Saturday.

 

After helping City win the Championship title in 2014 and then secure Premier League survival in 2015, Nugent was sold to Middlesbrough.

He helped Boro to promotion before returning to the East Midlands with Derby, and played 38 games under Frank Lampard last season, suffering an injury in the play-off semi-final win over Leeds.

 

Think i remember Frank saying that Nuge was a bit of a jinx. A lovlier man, you could never hope to meet. A little true memory to share about him. Obviously when he was still at the club, my son was in some fashion store in the town that a couple of his friends owned. Ollie happened to be in the changing room trying on a few clothes. Came out with them, and there was nuge and wife showing off their new baby to their frinds. Ollie asked for the usual selfie then after some chat went to counter  put items on. Said i will leave this one. Cant afford them all. Nuge said. Dont worry. Ive got these. Paid for £150 of clothing and signed the receipt with his twitter name. What a generous guy. Sorry to carry on now, but ollie must be the luckiest guy in leicester where freebies from players was concerned. When vards first came to the club, he used to frequent the braunstone gate bars. Ollie wss in there and recognosed vatds when he came in. Not many did as he wss new to the club. They got chatting, and jamie bought his drinks all night. Got pissed together and jamie introduced him to his snake move on the floor. Finally, i dont know if wes still has his blue ink parlour, but for advertising he put a comp on fb. Put your name in a text to win £100 of tattooing free. Apparantly wes put names on a peice of paper alphabetically. Closed his eyes and put his pen in the paper hit ollies name. His wife said to wes. Thats hardly fair. As there no chance othe 1st 4 or last 4 being a winner. So just raffle the numbers. Guess what?.... Wes told him this when he went for his tattoo. Anyone who has close contact with the players can ask them. I know wes would remember. Anyway im dorry ive indulged my self and bored you all.😂😂

Sorry bmt - couldn't help it. 

I cringe more at many other things such as apostrophes - though not, I hasten to add, literally.

Feel kinda conflicted about this, but good luck to him! He'll always be ours really...okay and Brighton's 😉.

 

Edit: It's just occurred to me that he played under Hughton at Brighton. Makes even more sense now, and means he's likely to thrive!
