Dennis Gyamfi is set to join one of Leicester City's Europa League rivals following his departure from the club in the summer

Former Leicester City defender Dennis Gyamfi is set to join the Foxes' Europa League rivals Dinamo Zagreb this week, Leicester Live understands.

The highly-rated 18-year-old right-back has been looking for a new club since his contract with Brendan Rodgers' side expired at the end of last season.

Gyamfi left Leicester stunned when he rejected their offer of a new contract in order to seek new opportunities and regular playing time.

However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has led to difficult challenges for young free agents - but Gyamfi's patience is set to be rewarded.

The Netherlands youth international will join Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb this week, having undergone a medical at the club on Thursday.

Gyamfi will then pen a contract with Dinamo and will certainly have eyes cast towards next week's Europa League draw, with Dinamo already securing their spot in the knockout stages of the competition.

However, as Leicester won their group, Gyamfi will not have the immediate prospect of a reunion with his former teammates as the two sides will be seeded for the Round of 32 draw, with Dinamo clinching top-spot with a game to spare.

While the move may raise eyebrows considering there was plenty of interest in Gyamfi in England, Dinamo have shown their ability to develop young players previously.

Former Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo left Catalonia to move to Zagreb, where he caught the eyed and earned a move to Champions League semi-finalists RB Leipzig.

Dinamo also signed Robbie Burton from Arsenal in January, for a reported fee of £800k, while defender Josko Gvardiol has been courted by a number of top sides in Europe.

Proper cvnt that Spurs player. 2-foots a player then rolls around in a way Neymar would be proud of when he gets kicked back. Twat.

Jesus, you have to feel for Drinky there. Don't think I've ever seen a professional two foot someone like that when their opponent wasn't even at walking pace! Drinky shouldn't have lashed out, but both should have been sent off.

Not defending the kid but apparently he's 16. Disgusting tackle but Drinky should know better to not lash out...

He's 16?! He's got some nerve going after senior players like that...but still, as you say, Drinky should know better. He's the senior player and should be setting an example.

I do wonder what will become of him...

Feel sorry for Danny as now all the focus is going to be on how far he’s fallen.

Thats a horrible challenge and I think anyone would struggle to react calmly to it.

Exactly, that's a challenge that can end careers or cause years out. No doubt most players would struggle to keep a calm head with that.

Horrible tackle. Did the Spurs player walk. Would’ve defended the Chelsea player whether it was Drinkwater or not (I’m not his biggest fan).

He’s done enough to ruin his own career, must be frustrating getting done like that by some young kid. 16 year old or not, in the heat of the moment a lot of us would’ve done the same (or worse).

I’m sure some will say they wouldn’t and they’re better than that, but the mindset in competitive football and walking down the street are miles apart.

This is a good listen if you’re looking for something on in the background.

Drinkwater, Marshall, Cameron Stewart all from the Man United-Pearson connection with unreal ability but ultimately struggling into their late 20s.

Most of the Leicester stories in the first hour, including Mills being a ****, the double middle finger at Barnsley and the size of Vards’ todger...

All the interviewers sat there laughing at him but can’t help but feel he completely wasted his talent. I thought he was the next big thing for us but clearly couldn’t put his small town lifestyle behind him.
