.  A good season would be to at least narrow the gap so that the Top 6 are not just an impregnable mini-league, but we have got a decent chance of top 6 or even 4 - this is the season to do it as Man U and Chelsea are vulnerable and also we will sell Maddison at the end of the season - so this season is a good one to really give it a go, which I am sure the lads will ...

Nah. It'll be Ricardo that we lose. Don't think Maddison will be the complete product after this season.

Pretty small time too, the kind of thing a promoted team does when they win the Friday night opener and they're top of the league lol

Totally agree. Although, if we had been in that situation, I would have done a screen-grab of the table and sent it to every single one of my non-LCFC footy following mates .......: several times.  🤷‍♂️

The hardest thing about breaking into the top 6 is keeping your best players or/and having a continual conveyor belt of equally/potentially good players.

On top of that as a provincial city and not one of the biggies like London, Manchester and Liverpool making it harder to entice and keep the best from abroad.

That, besides the odd quirky finish as in Ipswich and us is the way it's been for decades except the top group has expanded a little.

It will be a massive struggle to break into that to 6 and an even tougher one to stay there winning a one off title will seem like it was easy in comparison.
