Whatever Forest’s ridiculously unnecessary expansion takes theirs to, just make sure this is slightly bigger!

They announced their expansion, surely in the knowledge we were looking to expand ours as it’s been news for a good couple years, with the tagline ‘the East Midland’s largest football stadium’.

Absolute morons lol

Forest were due to start work this summer, but it's been put back "by at least a year".

Their plans actually looked quite good, not only improving the ancient Main Stand but improving the areas around the stadium and moving the rowing club boathouses further away from the Trent End.

A while back EM news dedicated a good 10 minutes on the proposed new capacity increase for Forest, I wonder if they do the same for us.

Please lord don't just do a Cardiff and whack a tier on top the easy stand.

I just can't see Whelan and Top doing that.. it's so low rent. They do everything top spec.

A sensible smaller upper tier above ideally north, East South or maybe just two sides.

Either way, I expect a middle tier of corporate boxes

They are freaks. Absolute cloud cuckoo land.

That stadium design they issued was aspirational. No plans. No planning permission. No costing. Wasn't even done by an architect. They'd just slipped 500 notes plus unlimited soya cappuccino to some.local graphic designer hipster in Sherwood to knock up a drawing.

EMT vvanked themselves into a stroke when they saw it.

Strange thing about them is everyone from the fans, media, former players and the club itself are genuinely on another level of delusion, not even exaggerating it’s a weird club, they had plans to expand to 38,000 despite having an average attendance of under 20,000 a few years back, if they drop to lower mid table or have to up the prices again they’ll just have more empty seats than before.

Where we’re concerned is there any indication other than that it is likely to happen anytime soon? As others have said surely next season would be ideal with us unlikely to be back in the stadium.

Er, no. On account of there  is something worthwhile to report about our club these days ..... EM doesn’t need to balance the airtime by digging up any old god-dammed thing to give us a mention. Sadly, that’s not true for the reds. Hence clutching at straws around a planned stadium overhaul that was PR as much as anything.  But I hope their moment in the spotlight comes soon. They can come and join us in the sunlight. Now 42k at the KP to witness us dismantle Forest would be something for EM to report on 😊😊

I find the place the oddest place in Britain. It's like some hallucinogenic potion is pumped in the water there. Everything about the place is relentlessly positive.

Not just an absolute granite hard belief in thier football team. It's the Best nightlife. Best birds. Best restaurants. Best music scene. Best shopping. Best jobs, economy, IT, creative, scientific, craft beers, handmade soaps, basket weavers. Best transport. Whatever.

the handful of people I know from there Never stop banging on. Zero humility. Zero.modesty. It's unbritish. It's Odd.

what I worst feared. An out of proportion lopsided stand where half the seats are miles removed from the action

On first looks I guess, but equally the plan is only an above viewpoint and we have no concepts to see what it would look like. I’m just going to hang fire on judgement and trust the owners as the training ground is stunning.

There’s not much more choice to be fair....

All in line with what a few of us were told from the original idea of expansion.

C shape that comes down to the kop and North stand.

Assume they’ve shelved the plans for a separate indoor arena then? Shame, but obviously not the priority.

Hard to tell from that image, it’s feasible  the hotel and arena could be combined into a second building. @Ashley Did the initial consultation give any idea if the arena is/was a definite or just an option being considered?
