You can point at the defence (quite rightly), but a lot of this is down to our midfield.

 

Absolute inability to control a match in there. It's what stopped us getting past Croatia and it's still our weakness.

 

Barkley is a luxury player and doesn't do enough to justify the luxury. Same can be said of Lingard and Alli.

 

Not sure if Rice does enough for us yet.

Goal 1 - Crap ball by Maguire to Barkley, who plays a terrible ball to Keane. Who for some reason tries to play a ball square to Maguire, who isn’t there as he’s never in position. Why he didn’t lump it, who knows. 
 

Goal 2 - Crap ball by Rice and a tidy goal in fairness. 
 

Goal 3 - Heads gone moment for Maguire, as he gets done by their player and goes all Beckham and kicks him faintly for no reason.
