Nod.E Posted 10 September 2019 Posted 10 September 2019 You can point at the defence (quite rightly), but a lot of this is down to our midfield. Absolute inability to control a match in there. It's what stopped us getting past Croatia and it's still our weakness. Barkley is a luxury player and doesn't do enough to justify the luxury. Same can be said of Lingard and Alli. Not sure if Rice does enough for us yet.

Who for some reason tries to play a ball square to Maguire, who isn’t there as he’s never in position. Why he didn’t lump it, who knows. Goal 2 - Crap ball by Rice and a tidy goal in fairness. Goal 3 - Heads gone moment for Maguire, as he gets done by their player and goes all Beckham and kicks him faintly for no reason.
