UpTheLeagueFox Posted 23 September 2019 Posted 23 September 2019 10+ minutes of Brendan Rodgers with talkSPORT ahead of the Spurs game Talks about ambitions with Leicester, James Maddison (his best position/playing for England), tactical stuff about playing out from the back and how to set up against teams.

I loved the game on Saturday, but if Aurier's goal had stood we'd have lost, would now be in mid-table, would have failed to beat three average 'big 6' teams, etc etc. Early days. But lets leave the talk of top 4 out, and leave talk of top 6 until Christmas Also wanted to give huge kudos to BR. While it was probably the VAR decision that sparked the comeback, his change to a diamond at the same time was pivotal. Our three were being outmuscled and overrun by Spurs' three (Maddison and Tielemans were quite poor defensively) but from then on our four bossed their three completely. Still looks a major mistake not to have signed a game-changing, goal-scoring winger in the summer. A genuine quality winger in with this squad and I'd be hugely confident of top 6. It was a massive oversight not to get one in, especially given what we've seen of Perez thus far. Can see us splashing the cash if we are well placed in January.

He is one of those players I think, where a lot of the time his good work goes unnoticed, and when he does play a poor pass or turnover possession, it is noticeable! This season he seems to be playing deeper, or perhaps with less freedom to go forward. Could be to do with Maddison performing better and being the focus of or attack from midfield. Hes still playing well just not scoring/assisting as he did last season, so people think hes off form. The tackle and through ball to vardy yesterday was class, and he was involved in the build up to a lot of our chances

ARM1968 Posted 23 September 2019 Posted 23 September 2019 Don’t really all get the Spurs hate to be fair - can’t find it in myself to hate a team that matter so little. I have to admit, though, that I find them endlessly funny. They truly are the gift that keep giving.
Swiss_tony Posted 23 September 2019 Posted 23 September 2019 Much improved performance compared to man utd. much more positive, plenty of possession and chances. maddison was outstanding. Still worrying that we seem unable to keep a clean sheet. We always look like we've got one brainfart in us each game that costs a goal. Against all of this, we probably couldn't have played them at a better time, they looked flat and tired. That being said the finest of margins stopped us going to 2-0 down. We looked much better and balanced after praett came on, with maddison behind the front two. Poch said 'spurs dominated', really? Hahahahahahaha for all the 'obliging Leicester 'posts: First Ricardo goal of the season. First Maddison goal of the season. First time in 45 PL games we have won after being 1-0 down at halftime.

If we maintain this level of defensive solidity over the whole season we will finish top 4. Mind you, we’re going to win the league so no worries really.
urban.spaceman Posted 24 September 2019 Posted 24 September 2019 Some interesting Vox Pops from Leicester fans and Spurs fans alike. One, pre-game, saying they (Spurs) need to win something this year - "definitely should go for the League Cup"....
trabuch Posted 24 September 2019 Posted 24 September 2019 Great video that. The good old Leicester fan at around 6.00m followed by the plastic spurs fan (who's from Leicester - and clearly regrets his life choices). Decent Spurs fan (and I don't say that often) after that though.
