I've always thought Grealish is more direct. I got laughed at on here a few months back for saying he carries the ball better than Maddison. 

 

Their stats are pretty similar this season, maybe Grealish has scored more, and Grealish plays in one of the worse sides in the division.

Maddison won't make it. But the way Grealish is being used at the minute sees him competing with Sterling, Rashford and Sancho for a spot. 

 

We are comparing a left winger here to a central midfielder.

They've both played in attacking midfield positions all season. The fact that Grealish's default position out of possession is a few metres to the left has absolutely no bearing on the ability of anyone with working eyes to assess that he's been far superior.

 

We backed Maddison, we were wrong. Get over it, it's not a big deal.

Wrong. Grealish played 13 games as left forward and that’s where he’s scored all his goals.

Absolute rubbish. Grealish has been embedded in the villa team for years, but more to the point he has licence to roam from midfield to attack at will. Maddison is playing a specific role in a team that Rodgers is building. Personally I think he needs more freedom like Grealish but for whatever reason isn't getting it. However, if he did have that freedom then I've no doubt you'd see much difference at all between them both. Look back to the YT vid from when he played for Norwich to see how much licence he had to roam and how good he is as a player. Even last year he was sensation and yet typical fans like you are all over him.

Maddison has played 21 games as centre mid 

 

Grealish has played 6 games there. All early season where he was completely ineffective Villa fans said as he has defensive responsibility. He then got moved to left forward  where he’s played his best

Look how much Maddison is own half to Grealish lol. Grealish has free role and captain because he’s their best player. If he came to leicester or another top 4 club he would actually have defensive responsibility.

Maddison is following orders I think and they appear to have changed . Grealish has a much freer role .

No. All Grealish goals have came from left forward. The key word here is forward. Maddison is not a forward. 

 

He was atrocious early part of season when he played centre mid and actually had to defend. Then Smith moves him to left forward. 

 

Grealish would never work in a system like ours. He needs the entire team built round him where he gets a free role.

This is where Grealish plays. He’s a forward and has not scored a single goal playing in centre mid or attacking mid where Maddison plays. 

 

Villa play 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 with Grealish  as the LW. The same position as Sterling.. but you are comparing to a centre mid

When I look at him I wonder if his talent surpases his desire for the game, we shall see as time goes on.

 

People said it was fine for him to go to a casino when he was ill when england were playing, I am not so sure its not somthing I could ever imagine doing, I would be pissed off not playing.

 

I sense  his agent makes him feel like he is gods gift to football. He has at times been very good but he also has drifted through games without much infulence recently.

 

David Bentley is a inferior player but the body language of the two players seems simular at times.

 

Bentley retired at 29....make of that what you will.

I think all our players could do with a real boost from the fans regardless of how they play. 

 

This is when they need us when confidence is low and form patchy.

 

So many in the team seem scared to take risks and force the issue in games let's not make it our fault.

Don't get me wrong, Chilwell has had some extremely poor performances this season, but fans are on his back nearly all the time and this probably affects his confidence no end. 

 

Our fans reaction to some of our players, with ironic cheers (eg Kasper) is totally embarrassing at times.
