We used to require that both guys had experience -- of being sent off against us. But I guess our standards have slipped.
coolhandfox Posted 28 August 2022 Posted 28 August 2022 Fearing the worse, can see us over spending on someone that doesn't improve us.

Supergray22 Posted 28 August 2022 Posted 28 August 2022 (edited) This would be a sensible buy at the right price. Particularly if it helped resurrect Calgars foxes career. Edited 28 August 2022 by Supergray22

Çağlar Söyüncü is one of the centre-backs currently at the King Power Stadium and his deal runs down at the end of this season. The Turkey international is expected to leave in 2023, and this has seen Leicester look for his replacement. According to FcInterNews, Brendan Rodgers’ side could ‘think of replacing’ Söyüncü with his compatriot, Demiral, and the Foxes option should ‘not be underestimated’ for the Atalanta centre-back. The Serie A defender was proposed to Inter Milan in the summer and his name is linked to the Nerazzurri again due to Milan Škriniar’s contract situation, which expires at the end of the current campaign. However, Simeone Inzaghi’s side don’t consider signing Demiral because of Atalanta’s demands. Atalanta are starting from €40m and aim to get no less than €30m for the player. As per the report, it is ‘easier’ for the Premier League clubs to match this figure, where Leicester shouldn’t be underestimated as an option for Demiral. The centre-back has scored two goals from 15 matches in all competitions for the Italian club this season.

Wonder if we're being used here to encourage Inter to make a move?
MPH Posted 29 December 2022 Posted 29 December 2022 Him again! I’d love to sign him but I’d be surprised if we spend £30m on anyone this winter window…
surrifox Posted 29 December 2022 Posted 29 December 2022 no effin' way are we spending 40 mill on ole Merih
Tielemans63 Posted 29 December 2022 Posted 29 December 2022 I'm sure Cags has nothing but good things to say about the club and the manager.... 1 2

As you say, don't think we'll spend that big, especially if we spending more on a RW.
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 29 December 2022 Posted 29 December 2022 Italian clubs love a loan with a view to a permanent in the summer.
StanSP Posted 29 December 2022 Posted 29 December 2022 It's annoying we're selling a decent centre-back just to spend money on another purely because Rodgers has stopped rating him.
JimmyC74 Posted 29 December 2022 Posted 29 December 2022 Isn’t Glover’s MO more focused on youth players who can be developed and sold on at a profit. On that basis and limited funds i would have thought names likes Demirel would be unlikely this January

Not even that, but to alienate and cast him out even though he's decent enough for clubs like Atletico to be in for him seems odd. 50 minutes ago, Bert said: We’re not even selling him.
