It's interesting appointment for Rangers, the big question is would he be able handle the pressure and expectations with the club size of Rangers. He did a decent job at Sheffield Wednesday but hasn't actually done or won anything in management. It is certainly an ambitious and but at the same time a gamble of an appointment.

Barry Bannon was on Radio Scotland a few weeks ago and really talked him up.

High press, attacking football, flexibility due to analysis on opposition weaknesses along with great man management.

Everything they havnt been this season.

if he gets off to a decent start and beats Celtic in the LC semi final then it buys him time.

Kris Boyd loves to rant and rave, but fair play for sussing Brendan Rodgers out, everything he says about him is spot on.

I’ve seen numerous Celtic fans stating that Rodgers has checked out, but Rodgers is just doing what he always does.

He’ll have a period of success, after 2-3 years he’ll check out, blame everything on poor recruitment, mess the team up, then leave.

Kris Boyd sees through Rodgers and puts Sutton in his place. Even ended it by saying Sutton's going to Brendan's house for a cup of tea.😁

From a Celtic forum

Tried to stay away from this today but eff it.
Been saying it for months, he’s done. He is on the managerial downslope.
I’m fed up watching Celtic centre backs having more touches than anyone else in the team and him blaming the players. And blaming the lack of goals on players no longer here? I’m amazed that other teams (like Dundee btw) are able to sell their better players yet still score enough goals to beat us.
If we are a Honda Civic, what are Dundee? He talks complete and utter scheidt. The sooner he goes, the better.’

Another one

With Rodgers comments post match, I think it’s fair to say he wouldn’t be gutted if he got sacked. He’s actively slating the squad, his comments today weren’t even nuanced at all.

He does this while £20M+ of his signings are sitting on the bench. Players who on current form would actually improve the starting 11 if selected.

His selection of Yang today was ridiculous, a guy we’ve tried to sell twice, only for us to then pull the plug. A player who was happy to go because he knows he isn’t cutting it here - but Rodgers picks him, I’m at the point now where I feel sorry for Yang as BR is using him to score some sort of point with the board.’

Again

Maybe the Board only gave him a Honda Civic but he is playing ia league where the rest are on Bikes and he is fekin it up.

And…

I’m as far away from one of these Angeopjiles on here can be.

I’d bet we wouldn’t be dicking about with 900 passes every game with about 60 percent of them sideways or backwards every game.

We would probably score some goals and that too. Which would be nice.

Finally…

Not a good look for a coach who claims to develop players.  They've all gotten worse under him.

It’s all so so familiar 😂😂

At this stage, knowing he’s leaving, I’m now thinking Rodgers is setting fire to Celtic from the inside.

What good has his comments done Celtic? None whatsoever, all while we (seemingly) have a credible title challenge.

He moans about players and quality, yet refuses to play his own high value signings, who he spoke so positively about upon their signing.

😂😂😂😂😂

Absolute slimeball Brendan is, isn't he. Regurgitating the same old shite.

I hope his failure continues and the Celtic fans make sure more people realise.

I've said it before and will say it again, I harbour no ill will for any of our former players or managers broadly speaking, but Brendan is an exception to the rule. It is sad really given what he achieved here but he is so up his own arse and lacking in introspection that it is too difficult to see past how it all ended.

We had a job on at the training ground about 3 years ago. Despite, historically, I was probably our companies ‘biggest’ fan of Leicester and the way our company like to look after the blokes, there was not a cat in hells chance I was going to be sent there to do the project. For one reason only. 😂

Admittedly it was a wise move. I’m not sure what I’d have done or said had I bumped into him 🙄

Is he hated that much ?

Sure the final  season was a disaster but no leeway for the FA cup win for example.

Suppose it really was a case of one season too much .

Not that Rodgers is popular here either !

If a tradesman mowed your lawn, painted your fence and bled your radiators, you'd be happy with that.

If that same tradesman, after you invited him for a cup of tea, turned your taps on and put the plug in in the sink, then ordered a load of really expensive materials to be delivered which he never used, and this tradesman then sat in your lounge for 6 hours with a 3/4 empty cup, moaning about not spending more on materials, while the water rose above your ankles, well, you've been Brendaned.

So yeah, THAT much.lol

I despise him. I’m probably a bit OTT with it, but it was more than just one season. It was 6 months after the FA Cup win our downfall really began. We’d been dodgy in the season prior to that too, even with the FA Cup win.

My boss was on about it last week and how he had credit in the bank with the FA Cup. My reply was that he lost his credibility at Warsaw away- not just the result but the performance. Then he lost it further 6 months later being spanked by Forest in the FA Cup. Then he lost it 7 months later after that when we were rock solid bottom after 5 games.

It wasn’t that side of things that annoyed me though. I can stomach being crap. It was the gas lighting of our thickest fans, and the vast majority of them buying into it-

‘we DO need a refresh’

‘he hasn’t been backed’ (£230m of expenditure under his reign)

Their failure to look at his signings and have the penny drop that actually, the safest thing LCFC could do would be to NOT back him at all any more.

I argued after that Forest game in Feb 2022 that it was cheaper to sack one bloke for £15-20m than to keep the cock and give him the refresh he craved

Then there was the way he ‘managed’ the players. Throwing them under the bus at any opportunity to save his own skin. That’s not how managers lead- in any line of work.

Pearson was the best man manager we’ve had, in my lifetime at least. You get a good man manager in, then you end up with a better team than having a crap man manager who’s a good tactician.

I’ve never known a fan base to be so hoodwinked by one man as our fans were with this cnut.

Brendan Rodgers is an elite coach, so many players have said it and he often improves players initially, but he's a honking club manager, the issue is, he's a coach who demands management level responsibility, and it's the same old story, he comes into a club and immediately improves them with tactical and coaching tweaks, players thrive, but as the transfer windows pass, as staff leave and need replacing, his complete lack of ability to actually manage the club and find adequate talent shine through, and all of the good coaching work he does eventually gets overshadowed by him making bad coaching staff and player signing decisions trying to fit square pegs in round holes, and at that point when the heat gets turned up, his ego takes over and he blames everyone but himself whilst refusing to change.

BR simply cannot succeed long term unless the club he's at is well run and refuse to hand him extra power, the moment they do, the club declines.
