Bit dangerous for the White House to tweet this. Trump doing it is one thing. Might be nuanced but Trump's twitter represents himself; that represents the nation. Shooting should only really be to protect life. I know he likes to be divisive; but they're playing with fire here.

There are already videos showing unrest is spreading to other cities.

Digging a hole for himself and the country deeper and deeper. Just keep him away from the red button and the keys and codes.

A couple of interesting videos have surfaced allegedly showing the first act of violence of the protests.

To be clear I highly doubt this individual is a policeman as a lot of conspiracy theorists have been saying but there is something incredibly odd about the way this guy methodically walks up and smashes the windows to open the shop up then just walks off again while protesters harass him.  We need Bonedog back to help us get to the bottom of this shit.

Yeah I did see that but it's hardly conclusive.  You can't really say the guy on the left is definitely the guy on the right wearing a full-face mask in a low-resolution still from a video.  Texts can be faked.  Additionally the PD have said the guy named has an alibi because they have him accounted for on duty in another part of town at the time (obligatory they would say that, wouldn't they?).

Trump didn’t credit the original author of his 'When the looting starts' quote, but a simple Google search will tell you where it comes from.

In 1967, the notorious racist and segregationist police chief of Miami, Walter Headley, declared 'war' against what he claimed was a wave of Black criminals 'taking advantage of the civil rights' movement...

This is no coincidence; (Trump) knows exactly what he’s doing. It’s another signal to the racists among his base that he’s with them."

The irony of the story is they went after the wrong guy. And later charged this innocent man for "resisting arrest".

What the hell

But but but...we don't know the context behind these quick cut clips! I mean, they could have been provoked, and they have a very tough job, and some other protestors looted so it makes it justified and...

It’s almost laughable how much of a mess parts of the USA are, but lives are being lost too often for it to be a joke. There is no collective structure to their justice system as it differs from one state to the next. There doesn’t appear to be any overriding body to keep the law and justice systems in check. Their reluctance to change the way their country runs will mean scenes like this will be a regular occurrence. They have a celebrity running the country and have many out of control gun thirsty members of society. Problem is the rot set in years, and years ago, how exactly they change it now, I will never know.

Wish I could see more of this, he gets it. It's a video of police joining the protest - seems better than sharing videos of police brutality (nothing amazing actually happens in the video). This situation will never get better unless people accept there is a problem within elements of the police. Instead of ignoring it, they need to weed out the bad ones - not just blindly defend them. They need better recruitment, training and accountablity.

You see some of the videos of police brutality, or of police intervening in a peaceful protest with aggression - just escalating or provoking situations. At worst there are police officers who are racist or drunk with power. But some people just aren't cut out to be police officers. They don't have the temperament. They let fear take control; they dress up a weakness as a strength and lash out unfairly at people because they're scared. Or they're cowards who enjoy lashing out at people they know they have power over. It's so frustrating seeing people abuse their power and weak leadership excusing it - which is probably why civil unrest is now so widespread.
