I listened to a bit of the press conference and Gareth Southgate spoke well of him, saying that he's a player who will give England different options, and picking out all the same attributes as we would.

You get the feeling it’s a case of “ time served” for going to a casino after going home sick.

Bittersweet. I’m delighted for him but I know if he plays well the offers will come and his head will be turned.

Its likely the time spent with all of the England lads, and especially the groups of lads from Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, will make him want to see how high he can go and you can't blame him really if he does want to move come the summer.

Southgate was asked about this and he basically said the casino trip was a non-incident as far as he was concerned. He accused the media of making a big drama out of it. So I really don't think that has ever had anything to do with it.

Can we all agree here and now, that if Madison does leave in the Summer or whenever, we give him a great reception when he returns. He's been an absolute joy to watch and deserves to be playing at the highest level and that isn't us right now.

Southgate just doesn't like the fact that he has a personality and an opinion.

Called it at the start of the season, massive change in his attitude last season that lasted beyond a couple of months. Then after seeing him training all summer it was all set for him to smash the start of the season and force his way in.

Hard for me to get buzzing for it because I think this world cup is an absolute travesty, but glad to see the media picked him for a major tournament. Hopefully the next one is because the gaffer wants him there.

As deserving as anybody in that squad and you just know the lad is gonna be absolutely flying after getting the call this morning. Well done Madders :)

Congratulations Madders! Fully deserved. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. The list for our little club  is too numerous to mention but here goes - Banks, Shilton, Whitworth, Weller, Worthington, Lineker, Heskey, Guppy, Maguire & MADDISON. Many more of course but these the ones I know of.

No. We'll boo him, as we should. Hopefully relatively good-natured booing, but still, it's the done thing and no less than he'd expect.

Also it might depend who he was playing for. I'm buggered if I'm cheering a Newcastle or Man U player, for example, or indeed any of the greedy six - or seven, probably, now.

If he came back with Real Madrid for a friendly, that might be different.

and don't get injured on Saturday......

Yeh..we don’t want that Rooney moment…Even the oppo fans (Chelsea) that day went quiet & understood the moment…

Lets hope from Saturday KOff, through to last games,

Fans can have those horrible feelings, but like the T20 cricket come out gobsmacked…
