Adverts:

I can honestly say I pay them no attention at all.

I hit 'Skip' on YouTube as soon as possible, they just pass me by when on the radio and ones on the TV often look 'familar' but I couldn't actually tell you what they were advertising .

On the rare occasions I buy a weekend paper along with all the 'supplements', I quickly turn the pages with adverts without a second glance.

Dunno if I'm typical with this? I guess not, because companies spend fortunes on ads.

I'm with you. Skip or fast forward during any TV programmes, the only live tv I watch is sport and the adverts are used as bathroom breaks or getting drinks.

I'm the same, no advert has ever made me buy a product, must be an awful waste of money, think they are like £45,000 for a slot.

I guess it keeps bigger brands relevant and they can afford the cost.

You might think you’re cleverer than advertising execs but (no offence) you’re not. I bet you think Waitrose is high quality, France/italy is a great holiday destination because the food is great, Nike produce the best running trainers etc etc. They get into your mind without you realising

It is though. I know this from tasting it, no advertising execs were involved lol

Went to the tip and as I was throwing stuff in a box at the top of the pile in the container caught my eye. Leicester City matchday programmes. From the season we won the league. Numbers 01, 03, 05, 07, 10. And in good condition. I did my duty and rescued them.:claudio:

Cyclists.

I don't cycle myself but I'm usually an ally of cyclists against the sort of constant nonsense they have to put up with online from the usual suspects that like attacking anybody that isn't them: cyclists, vegans, female footballers, teachers..... You know who I mean.

But one weekend in London and I can see why they annoy Londoners. Literally none of them stop at red lights (yes, they mean you too), flying across junctions or in front of cars. Great seeing so many in use across the capital but jeez realise it's you that's gonna be the one with the regrets of you get hit.

My wife and I have been playing "guess the nationality" in our Mallorca hotel at mealtimes. Any German couple over 50 are instant spots due to the woman's haircut. My ability to identify football shirts from range has given me an advantage.

Anyway, it's struck me that France is a balder nation than people give it credit for.

I’m going to try that on holiday next week 😂👍

Paying £1 per poppodum in curry houses is probably the most offensive thing to have ever happened on planet earth.

£1.50 each at the Indian we use. We don’t bother with them anymore, something they just use to give you on the table for free.

I think that's how we handle it. Nobody buys a single one ever again.
