Had heard there was a leaked conversation between Putin and Xi Jinping, where they discussed something about organ transplant and increasing life expectancy to 150+ years - so, possibly that..

That was a fascinating snippet of a conversation, but I think people somewhat missed the point:

- Xi mentioned the possibility of people living to 150 by the end of the century (not unreasonable as a muse).

- Putin mentioned the possibility of immortality through organ transplants, which is far more in the realms of science fiction.

- It’s an insight into Putin’s mind; the guy is an obsessive and this is a massive thing for him. He’s terrified of death to the extent of believing in this to combat it.

- It kind of felt like Xi was humouring him a bit and that Putin brought the topic up.

I don't know where to post this as no football topics seems to fit right now but, Ronan Kemp is so much better than Robbie Savage on BBC 606.

Easier to listen to, knowledgeable and genuine, not pretending to be a WUM. Just need to get shot of Sutton and replace him with someone who isn't biased

Savage plays the character he needs to, fewer people ring and interact with based viewpoints. If a presenter is being controversial and pissing off a certain supporter base they're more likely to call in

Football managers and touchline clothing....

I don't know why it's just become an issue for me, but Enzo is on the touchline looking like he is going straight out after the match with the lads 🤣

Traditionally.... the manager had a suit and tie... (kind of...)

Times have moved on and that's fair enough, but I feel like they are representing the club so should be wearing something related 😆

I'm being picky but even my wife HAS JUST AGREED WITH ME 🤣🤣😲😮😉

Legend has it when St Felix of Burgundy landed in Babingley, Norfolk on his way to convert the East Angles to Christianity, he was saved from drowning by a colony of beavers. In gratitude he made the chief beaver a bishop. The village sign commemorates this event to this day; Mr Beaver the Bishop sits atop the sign wearing his little mitre.

Tragic news about Ricky Hatton. I was only young when he fought Mayweather in Vegas, but to think 30k Mancs had the disposable time and income to go to Vegas to watch a fight is scarcely believable in this era.

The sheer incompetence and utter wastefulness of the generation above to leave the Western world in the state it is now will not be understood by the next generations.

The billions spent on art and sport, all of which are vanity projects essentially, when there are so many other more important things in the world.

Yes, that painting is very nice, but £300m? You're not even paying that to the artist or their family. I don't get the whole forgery thing either. If you have a painting that is so like a classic that only an expert could tell, then you've got a work of art that is, to all intents and purposes, as good as the original, yet it is worth virtually nothing :dunno: So where is the actual value? Just a name is all. (Don't get me started on autographed stuff.)

Similarly the wages given sports stars. Yes, they have short careers, but many of them are earning more in a month than you will in your life. Their careers aren't that short (and obviously, this only applies to the elite athletes, there's plenty who earn a standard living).

There isn't any.

I'd wager the vast majority of the high end art world is just using it to launder highly dirty money.

And on the broader topic, it comes down to where the balance is between everyone having the freedom of choice to do as they wish (with their "property") and how much that freedom might or does impinge on the idea of an ethical society, or indeed impinge on the idea of the survival of society itself.

Are you saying my signed Trevor Benjamin shirt was a front for an eighth of cannabis?

Was his signature really worth even that? :D

Having pets is both the best and worst thing ever.

My cat is not well and it's just awful not being able to help. Emergency vet said to monitor and take him in tomorrow, so hopefully it means nothing too serious.

A night of worry ahead :(

My dog has terminal cancer (Anal gland), its spread so no operation available, his tumour by his tail is growing inside him and will eventually block his rectum, but at this point he’s fine whilst we give him laxative and anti inflammatory, so we just have to wait and treasure every day he has left. I’m sorry about your cat 🐈‍⬛

Terribly sorry to read that. Sounds like you are but please cherish every moment.

I can honestly say I pay them no attention at all.

I hit 'Skip' on YouTube as soon as possible, they just pass me by when on the radio and ones on the TV often look 'familar' but I couldn't actually tell you what they were advertising .

On the rare occasions I buy a weekend paper along with all the 'supplements', I quickly turn the pages with adverts without a second glance.

Dunno if I'm typical with this? I guess not, because companies spend fortunes on ads.

On tv there should be a warning on before ads start, saying, buy all this shite so you gullible idiots can make a load of rich cvnts richer and you thick  prats get poorer.
