We've done quite well to build a squad with so many players who aren't particularly good at any one aspect of the game. Midfielders who don't break up play, create chances or score goals, defenders who are neither solid defensively nor effective going forward, strikers who aren't reliable goal threats but also don't do a great deal else.

Him and Justin are two cheeks of the same arse in as much as they've got the mentality of a nervous kitten. In Luke's case it's been obvious since that horrid first of two performances at Forest in the cup.

 

He was our best player in the final few games last season. But there was zero pressure because we were down and had nothing to play for.

 

He's folding again now our games mean something.

 

It's a hard one for me because there is potential there, he's an academy lad and it's clearly a mentality thing rather than an attitude problem. He certainly doesn't deserve the stick the likes of Soumare, Faes or Winks get. But that doesn't make him any less shit in the circumstances.

You would use the best you have at the time to stand in I would presume, who knows how old, how physical and capable any such fullback was at the time but that’s what happened.

 

Luke is a very level headed local lad from good ‘season ticket holding family’ He certainly did have a group of local friends that helped keep him to remain that way and if you knew him, he’d probably tell you of his breakthrough. He used to take everything very seriously and never for granted and tried his best. Like any young man of his experience at the time, to suddenly come up against the likes of Salah, then Kane and Son running at you was quite daunting to put it mildly.

Back to football. I hope Luke does prove me wrong but he constantly gets praise even when hes been dreadful. Its truly baffling. Anyway lets hope he does turn it around and we pick up a result on saturday. have a good week

No disputing he tries his best. He’s just not an attacking fullback. Cifuentes realised that against PNE but that didn’t stop a deeper positioned Thomas getting caught out with balls over his head.

A bump for this thread…. I like him

 

Since he’s come back into favour since the back end of last season he’s been a steady 6.8 out 10 on average…. He was up against there big number 18 quite a lot but never shied away…. 
 

Not spectacular, but very steady and no bomb scares

 

I suspect Marti will continue to pick him, as he doesn’t let anyone down…

 

Pleased for him…
