He’s always been a stopgap player. Unfortunately our recruitment is so atrocious that the temporary solution became permanent.

Really hoping that idea behind the new contract is to maximise PSR profits from his sale rather than actually utilise him for the next four years.

This dude was effectively binned off at both Boro and Sheffield United because he wasn’t good enough for either, yet he’s starting every week at good old Average FC.

4 more years, 4 more years Luke Thomas

4 more years, 4 more years I say.

Playing football the Rudkin way

Yesterday there were too many very strange mistakes, such a horrific backpass for a corner that led to them hitting the bar, and some horrible over / under kicked corners and crosses. Do wonder where his head is at sometimes.

I still think he is better defensively than VK which is important right now. There were some important tackles from him last night.

I just dont know about that moment at the end of the game. At the time i felt it was an open goal for someone who can use their right foot. Reply suggest it might have been a bit more difficult angle than i gave credit for,

This is a good summary of what we are now.

How do they get away with a few feeble songs man. It's just insane.

Had a poor game last night but there is a good player in there .

He's reflective of the whole team, in that every player on the pitch is capable of having an outstanding game at times, but we need all players to consistently have these games at the same time and not the occasional one occasionally and be sh*t the rest of the time.

Disagree, there isn’t a good player in there.

what is he good at?? He’s not an attacking full back, can’t really pass the ball forward sir cross, not quick, not particularly great defensively, not great in the air…..

Give Aluko a chance or ……..VK. They can’t be any worse than Thomas.

We litteraly have one other player to put there, and he's completely cooked. We are going to have to make do right now.

Yeah fair point

Was a frustrating performance from him and he looks so out of confidence or talent I’m not sure which

& he gets out jumped every time, by guys his own size

He got a 7.2 Footmob rating. I think you are unfair as i remember 2 key defensive header he won. 0 tackles is interesting though!

He's the fullback version of Demarai Gray, has 2 good games a season so people forgive how crap he is the rest of the time because 'he's still young and eventually he'll develop into a good player'. It isn't going to happen, he just isn't very good.

Thomas hasn’t got pace, he’s not outstanding defensively and he offers very little when he gets forward. His whole kicking style ensures he favours a curved back pass with the inside of his left peg. That’s why he missed that chance at the end. Kicking the ball straight or curving it the other way and with the outside of his left foot is just something he never does and so I wasn’t surprised he pulled the ball well to the right of the post. It’s how he kicks every ball.

4 years seems a long contract for someone who will surely become a squad player. I wonder if the contract length is a sweetener  that enabled the club to get him on a significantly reduced wage to what he was on previously to get us more in line with PSR.

I don’t usually like playing good players not in their best position but we’d be better off with Ricardo at LB and Hamza at RB.

I thought Hamza was all over everywhere and looked a liability.

Fair enough, but I have no confidence in him when a cross comes his way......

It mostly is but I’ve seen him have outstanding games for us, most notably the night one against Liverpool at the KP (Pretty sure it was a cup game in which we beat em) a few years ago. He absolutely tamed Salah and that’s no easy feat.

But, like I said, he does have it in him to produce the goods…….somewhere…..just not consistently.

This attitude is EXACTLY why he's still knocking about. We aint a charity case just because he's an academy grad. Bin him off!

Would Haaland have scored that at the end, I’d think not the angle, the height the speed was all against him he did well to cut it back across goal where 2 or 3 players could have tapped it in or got an OG shame neither happened & our attackers weren’t switched on (BDCR)

Does this also put the Thomas doesn’t get past the halfway line cry to bed because to get that ball in the 1st place wouldn’t he have to have been the furthest forward Leicester City?

Someone should be alert to the possibility of it going across goal but I do personally think a professional footballer who's played in the Premier League and in Europe should probably be hitting the target on their strong foot from this position
