All those players you’ve just listed are struggling in their own positions yet alone playing out of it .

There were some rank post New Year’s Eve party smells on the terraces tonight, but none stank the place out more than his performance.

He’s unplayable at the moment surely. Might as well put a shirt on a traffic cone and it would stop more crosses. Admittedly Mavadidi was horrific too and gave no support.

Reach into the reserves, we must have a LB better than Luke. Awful, abject, atrocious. Turns out one decent performance season and that keeps him in because we have noone else.

 

Like the abomination that is Hamza Choudhury, Thomas is another one that seems to be kept on because he is cheap, homegrown, as well as being someone that noone else wants and sentimentality towards the academy players who have broken through.

 

Even if its a loan signing, we need to find a LB alternative. Now.

Bristol City have 4, yes FOUR players capable of playing LB and are better than Luke McAthomas

The worst player in the division who has made more than 5 appearances, absolutely no doubt about it.

 

Something's gone very wrong somewhere. I appreciate you can be carried somewhat in a better side but he's had the odd PL game where he's looked reasonable. He looks completely out of his depth in the Championship.

 

Watched a fourth tier Scottish game last week and did wonder to myself how blatantly better than this level would Luke Thomas actually look. Very intrigued to find out, and maybe one day we will.

He was never our weak link. He needed another start somewhere else.

 

Justin had a good 18 months in the Premier League. Thomas will never reach his level.

Ricardo can't play more than a game a week so putting him at LB removes the rotation for his RB spot. Aluko needs to be nurtured in. And yes hopefully we get someone in Jan but that's wishful thinking...

Agree with all of this, And he completely had me fooled last season when he came back in and looked reasonable.

The lads an absolute embarrassment. Looking at his demeanor on the pitch, I truly think he knows how far out of his depth he is too. It's like watching a boxer getting pummelled for 11 rounds but the ref won't put him out his misery and stop the fight.

 

This is a lad who went out on loan to Sheffield United, only to get dropped, sent back out on loan to Middlesbrough in a league below and got dropped after a handful of games there too. But yet here we are a couple of years later and hes starting every single game for us. 

 

Honestly, it sickens me to see what we have become and Thomas is just a symptom of a much bigger problem. Top should hang his head in shame for what hes done and continues to do our football club.

I’m often a make shift left back when I play 7-8 a side at work. I’ll bring my boots next time I go down KP as I’m going to throw my hat into the ring. Like Marti, I’m cheap and I’ll pay my own gardening leave or whatever. **** it, I’ll go one step further and pay to play - which might sound unusual but we’ve already fielded at least one competition winner this season (Carranza) and arguably Luke is another.
