He always looks knackered and unfit.

Thomas was definitely blowing out of his arse by the midway part of the second half. I thought he was targeted throughout by their right winger and came out very much second best. His love of the obtuse angle pass back to his centre back (whatever the state of the game is) is even more frustrating now we have two centre backs who are not at all good with the ball at their feet.

The curious thing is every opposition manager targets him.. multiple teams last season were ouvert in switching play to his side, despite more obvious options to attack down our right.

If every opposition manager knows how useless he is, why do multiple of our own managers all play him? Why can't they see what all fans, all commentators and all opposition analysts and managers see?

Edit; I'm reasonably sure today Notts County purposely left him as our out ball, which is why he was so involved first half

It's the Football Manager "trigger press when Thomas gets the ball" for sure.

Been happening in most games he's played for years.

The first time I saw it happen was the F#rest Cup game, he was clearly being targeted for the press, yet here we are over 3 1/2 years later.

I was going to mention that game specifically but I don't like to bring it up.

I've got to go and sit in the corner with a wet towel on my head now. Thanks.

6 of the last 7 managers before Martin have been involved in a relegation but they selected him so he must be good!

I know we'll get the usual droning about haters but we just don't think he is good enough for the team and hasn't been for years. If he was, he wouldn't be here for the right reasons.

The pile-on in previous seasons always made me feel somewhat uncomfortable. But it’s clear as night follows day he’s got major deficiencies that shouldn’t warrant him starting him as first choice.

Next game him Skipp and Reid have to be gone. I'd literally rather anyone played they are that bad. And if someone wants to pay £8m for Souttar then they must be mad. Slow, poor touch, clumsy. Incredible that we bought these players to play in the premier League absolutely insane recruitment. Then to give this tosser a new contract was taking the piss.

Definitely & if that happens it will earn RM aa few brownie points. I don't even want to see them on the bench, we must get Aluko in the team as he has so much pace & energy. I also like Tommy Neale, he has plenty of legs in midfield & should be in the 18 at least. Coulibaly showed up well in pre season & has plenty of pace & energy & again should be in the 18. O & we should never see McCarthy again, makes Danny Ward look world class

He’s a failed link to the past. Aluko - even out of position - is a glimpse of what might be the future. I know who I’d be selecting. 😏

He was caught far too many times in possession and better wingers will punish him time and time again.

I hate to criticise any academy player but I think he is very fortunate to be playing professional football. I can't imagine any team wanting to sign him in leagues one or two if we were to release him.

McFarlane only needs to be a 6/10 every week and he will be a significant upgrade on Thomas.

McFarlane only needs to average a 4/10 every week to be a step up from LT.
