Ricardo was one of our best players last season so his was probably justified..

Ricardo was 4 years and thankfully looks like it has worked out well (but yes still "broken" at the time)

 

Albrighton last signed a new contract for 3 years in 2021 after a season with 42 appearances and 25 starts

To be fair though when we offered him that deal we probably never imagined a year of it would be played in the Championship. Of course he cruised it, he was genuinely one of the best players to ever play at that level.

I thought Luke looked comfortable at the level we played yesterday, and it's perplexing—he’s had plenty of game time across different teams and leagues, so why hasn’t he improved?

 

I don’t want to exaggerate, but I genuinely believe he’s more of a lower Championship or League one player—not just in skill, but also in physicality. What he has going for him is a competitive environment to learn from and, of course, his young age, but so far, I’m not seeing any fruits bearing from it.

It’s only physically he may struggle. In tight areas he’s very good and his passing ability is something VK can only dream about. Thought he had a fine game last night always available and mixed his passing up nicely.

When you look at him as a player, he actually did okay under Rodgers in 20/21 and 21/22. He wasn’t at Chilwells level, however he was part of the team that won us the FA Cup.

 

You’ve only got to review some of the player ratings threads though to see he’s put out some of the worst performances since we started match day ratings though, so he’s had some right howlers :facepalm:

You would imagine so.

 

We’ve got Thomas, Ward, Iversen and Vardy all expiring in the summer. I don’t think any of them will be with us in August. 
 

Vardy aside, we need to shift the other three!
