Incredible Blast game at Taunton. Somerset were 88-4 in the ninth but reached 236-5 to get to the target set by Middlesex with four balls in hand.

The deck hasn't had too much about it? From what I've seen the bowling and fielding has just been high quality.

 

It's such a flawed format but an event like this every couple of years is so good for Test cricket, especially with a non-Greedy Three nation putting up a fight.

Saffers hot favourites now........but they have choked massively before, numerous times.

Pitch should be even better to bat on tomorrow although some overnight rain may make it spicy. 
 

It’s got me thinking about the ashes. The Aussie batting line up is clearly on the decline, but the bowling attack while also aging is incredibly sharp. On the other hand our batting line up is fantastic but the bowling on paper is a complete mess. I think a lot will depend on the pitches, weirdly the Aussies might want some bowler friendly wickets.

Watched the end on YouTube. Must have hammered it down down there, lots of slipping in the outfield.

 

Commentators said it had ultimately been pointless going out there as a no-reault would have been 2 each too.

Look at what it means. The ICC need to ensure Test cricket is competitive and interesting because the players want it.

Can only be good for the format.

Fair play to SA. A lot of people, myself included, questioned the validity of them being there given who they've played to get here but they've got the result. English conditions is a haven for fast bowlers.

South African hierarchy probably take credit when they've not exactly been cheerleaders for test cricket from what I've seen. This all started when they sent the reserves to New Zealand. 

 

I do feel like it needs to be a final series rather than a one off test though.
