I've got a sneaking feeling Woakes is going to have fun here, he likes Lords.

Well, thus far this has aged like cask-matured milk. :D

Must be humiliating when a keeper stands up to the wicket as a fast bowler.

I don't think Woakes minds at all !

Agnew likes a whinge but his rant about over rates is fair. Think he said 16 less overs today.

Fielding side being slow but also people coming out for the batsmen every couple of overs or changing balls.

Proper even at the moment.

It's a disgrace but because it's largely only matchgoing fans who care, the ICC don't care.

George Dobell made the point yesterday that because cricket is largely run by ex-players, they wouldn't see an issue with it either.

Proper gutted for Gill that he didn't score big on Lords debut.

Root is a phenomenon at Lords. 8 centuries there now I think I heard?! Anyone have more than that?

Bumrah is the bowling phenomenon equivalent. How many other bowlers in the world could bowl out Root, Stokes and Brook?! Let alone it being in the same innings. Insane bowler.

Like Gill having treatment on the field, and the umpires seemingly let them drag it out

Yeah he should have gone off for that amount of time. Surprised umpires didn't push it further for him to go off.

Italy have qualified for the T20 World Cup. Mostly Aussies, English etc qualifying through ancestry but still pretty amazing give they've got past the likes of Scotland.

A Roses derby featuring Salt, Buttler, Bairstow, Anderson and Malan on right now.

Imagine what the TV audience would be if this game was marketed in the same way as a bang average Hundred fixture between two teams with no history or meaning is...

On the flip side, countries such as England & NZ tend to produce seamer friendly pitches, meaning the spinners aren’t used as often as in India or Pakistan.
Without doing any research, is the over rate problem mainly an issue over here ?

Either way, 90 overs should be achieved. We aren’t helped by constant drinks, batsmen changing gloves, balls being asked to be changed every few overs (this is a fairly new tactic, but still tedious) etc.

Sangakkara said earlier re the over rate, he would rather see 80 overs of quality bowling, rather than an extra 10/12 overs of a part time pie chucker, rush through his overs, to meet the demands of 90…………l get both sides of the debate.

Broad made a fair point as well, saying that we’ll have plenty of daylight left after 630.

West Indies should be on the blower if they have any sense. What a trio of countries to be qualified for.

David Lloyd goes on about over rates a lot, and how it doesn't help with getting people in to cricket

The thing is TV has its schedule. Love Island & My Perfect Wedding etc can’t wait !

Seriously though, why are we still starting at 11am ? Make it 10.15, l can’t see a reason not to. Cricket has moved on in so many ways, but not in the most basic one………..start & close of play times.

I’m sure he has a point. I’ve noticed lots of commentators & media folk getting really annoyed at the constant breaks in play in this series alone.
Something needs to change.

Two interruptions already today.

Edit: not sure if Pant is crossing the line into proper gamesmanship here.
