It's a shame, though Trent Bridge is also a great venue (easy to say after Leicestershire taking over the place two years ago). Just needs to market itself as well as Edgbaston does with Finals Day. Big lads' day out in an area good for getting on the beers.

 

National Village Cup final at Lord's tomorrow. Genuinely a great, cheap way to watch a final there - and a better standard of cricket than its name suggests. Plenty with Minor Counties and county 2nd XI experience involved.

When was the last time Jacks even played a red ball game for Surrey? It’s a joke selection when you consider Rehan Ahmed’s season or even Liam Dawson, who is a better bowler and has a better batting average than Jacks.

Going to need Wood and Archer to be utterly magnificent. And Carse and Stokes to do a lot of the lifting too.

I've love to know the thought process with Jacks, given he's barely bowled in white ball recently too.

Unless they think the wickets break up as much in Aus won't spin as much too then I'm baffled.

 

Leach, Ahmed, Dawson all better spin options which bring different strengths, all better than Bash too.

Unless the pace attack actually gets deep into the Aus top order then we'll struggle this winter.

 

If we get toasted 5-0 then hopefully it's then end of Bazball, Pope, Bashir & Crawley too.
