And then, largely due to injuries, mostly crap. Yep, he was. Was he mostly crap though? Been woeful this year, poor last year but otherwise he's been either ok, or was in his prime which was still 18 months before that injury. Had to disassociate the player he was with who he is now/the situation we're in so can't blame you/anyone for taking a more negative view 1
Popular Post foxile5 Posted 2 May Popular Post Posted 2 May 2 years great. 2 years injured. 2 years poor. Thanks Ricardo but it's the end. 6
W7Fox Posted 2 May Posted 2 May Sad to see his slow decline and final splutter out this season. Was easily in the top 5 RBs in the league before that horrid challenge from Tyler Morton broke his leg in the Cup game. Morton wasn’t even sent off, if I remember correctly. 1

Wasn’t it the Grealish one that did his ACL that really did Ricky in? I think the challenge you’re referring to happened after that. And you’re right, Morton didn’t get a red. 1

Popular Post Muzzy_no7 Posted 2 May Popular Post Posted 2 May Without that GBH from Tyler Morton he would’ve ended up going Bayern, PSG or Inter..he was THAT good. Shame. 9

At his prime one if the the best RB in the premier League. Shame it ended this way for him, but I still like the guy. 3

Ian Nacho Posted 2 May Author Posted 2 May He was world class for about 18 months. If it wasn't for that ACL against Villa I'm sure he'd of left years ago. Not made more than 15 top flight appearances since 19/20.

bmt Posted 2 May Posted 2 May Agree with most of the posts on here but he was one of the best premier league right backs at one point. As in, top two or three. Shame what has happened but will always look back on him fondly. 1

foxile5 Posted 3 May Posted 3 May I didn't make it today and I'm sad that it ended. But he's been toss for two years. We've had the best from him but he's had more from us. We kept him when countless others wouldn't. And we raised his wages. He'll end up the second division in Portugal and good luck to him.

Popular Post jim5000 Posted 3 May Popular Post Posted 3 May Injuries set him back, but in his pomp, the best right-back we've ever had, and dashingly handsome too. He clearly loves the club, never agitated for a move, stuck with us through 2 (3) relegations, and is a classy player. I will fondly remember him and would love to see him back one day in a coaching role. 8
Deeg67 Posted 3 May Posted 3 May Yeah, injuries derailed an incredibly promising career but he was a complete class act in terms of the way he carried himself and attitude towards the club and fans. All the best to him. 2

Chrysalis Posted 3 May Posted 3 May 22 hours ago, dmayne7 said: He wasn't an average defender. He was consistently in the top 5 when it came to tackles and interceptions in the PL (along with Ndidi). Even if that was because of bad positioning, which it wasn't, it still shows he was very good at defending. But as highly as I rate him, he's not a Legend At his peak, it was his offensive play I remembered him for.

Loved Ricardo, thought he was a great player in his prime and a good ambassador for the club. However, I think he's not a great leader and I question whether he would be able to be a really top coach as I feel he hasn't got that nasty streak that makes great managers/coaches.

JJD_LCFC Posted 3 May Posted 3 May Pre injuries wonderful player, one of the best in the world in his position and certainly comes across as a nice / good person. He was completely the wrong choice for a captain though. Failed in his leadership of a team. also, after relegation was confirmed he didn’t speak to any fans, drove of quickly. As captain his responsibility, not for Page or hamza to do so. That’s my only dispute with Ricardo.
Guest topguest321 Posted 3 May Posted 3 May don't care what anyone says, he'll always be one of my all time favourite players for us, even got a bit emotional at the end of the match yesterday
lgfualol Posted 3 May Posted 3 May I’m going to miss him being in the squad. Running out of players that I can tolerate at this point.

Using Ricardo as a human shield and turning our final game that should be about protests and comeuppance into a testimonial for the final player worthy of it. Exactly as they did with Vardy last year. Luckily next year they will have no one left to hide behind. They'll use Hamza next season, local boy spent over 20 years with the club etc. 1
