How do you work out getting into the top 4 is going to be a piece of piss?

We have not been out of it since the begining of the season.......Does that not tell you anything?

I think we need to accept that we will lose our top players at some stage and getting into the top 4 wont make a difference. I cant see all of Tielemans, Maddison, Barnes, Fofana, Ndidi etc all being with us in 2 seasons. Some may, not all. As long as we keep selling one or maximum two a season and keep buying well, we could invariably improve despite the sales.

Maguire out Caglar in, Chilwell out Justin in, Kante out Ndidi in. That type of deal will do for me, especially when we also made about 120m profit on those deals.

Dortmund have been doing this for years. Every season there better players leave to big clubs but they unearth young gems. I just hope we continue to recruit the younger player because every time we go for 28 year olds (or over) like Silva, Slimani, Iborra they cost a lot of money and they don't add much value to the squad financially or on the pitch.

I'm loving the footballing model we have currently, lets keep doing what we have been over the last few seasons by making money and spending what we have well.

Dunno. I think those with stronger squads (well, mainly Man City) can pick what competitions they want to be in.

They can rest most of their best players and still put out a very strong team with a strong bench, so (other than the League Cup, which top teams might not really value), why would they choose not to be in a competition?

Sums up modern football? All about finance and ability to pay obscene wages to retain your best players. Realise I am a dinosaur but afraid the glamour and magic is or has disappeared from the game when coming 4th supersedes winning a trophy we have never won and I would love us to win before the grim reaper appears🤔

But Not everbody, Nor any known majority....Think only Top 4 counts...its just "some" fans opinions...

They don't because Pep, rightly, wants to win everything. I was just speaking metaphorically.

There'd still be a victory parade. The final wouldn't be until late May, at the earliest. Absolutely no reason the club couldn't hold a parade in June. Would you have been willing to wait a month after we won the league?

Seeing your club win a cup should always mean something.

Even in June I highly doubt there would be an organised parade. Any mass gatherings even in June are going to have restrictions or testing, so no way the club or council would allow for thousands of fans to gather on the streets.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. We should aim for both!

Last semi still hurts to this day. Spectacuar Ian Wilson oggy v Spuds 😪

Yes it certainly does. Just watched it back again. Decent Spurs side. Terrible pitch at Villa Park for a semi-final.

Amazing to see Alan Young go off injured after being clattered in the first half, then Tommy Williams stretchered off, and having to play last fifteen with ten men. Crazy days!

FA cup no question, I was gutted we appeared to give up on the Europa cup to prioritise the league.

I have previously posted I'd prefer to win FA Cup than finish top 4, so agree with first point. Not so sure about the second: I wasn't too disappointed when we were beaten at home to get knocked out, given the injuries we have in the club and - moreover - the extra time players have to between games and to work together in training. No doubt we played very well v Man Utd but having a whole week without a game must have helped considerably. The Europa League is, to me, very much a second rate competition - with too many games - highlighted by the fact that the majority of finals have had a team playing that had previously got knocked out of the Champions League.

So whilst I'd prefer aFA  Cup win to a top 4 finish, I would prefer a top 4 finish to winning the Europa League - if, of course, there had to be a choice.
