If we're honest with ourselves, what has Top done in terms of accomplishments for Leicester City? Not his family - Top himself. In the States we have an expression - "born on third base and thought he hit a triple". I think the evidence very much indicates he's in way over his head. He probably sees Rodgers as his first big boy decision, and thought it was a real coup to get him. Firing him now would be undercutting that fantasy, and he doesn't seem to be strong enough to deal with that. The question is how he'll respond to being in the Championship with the massive financial losses that will entail. If he can make the decision now, he will be the much better for it. Convinced he saw Rodgers as both a coup, and a long term project. Thai people are honorable people, and that does not mashup well with fraudulent gob***tes like Rodgers. I would love to know some of the stuff Rodgers has said he could deliver, and why he was worth every penny of his over inflated salary.
drew Posted 16 October 2022 Posted 16 October 2022 I take the Brendans heat comment as a thinly veiled dig at the fans for providing the "heat" in the stadium.

They look shit the Mrs hates them, kids are a bit scared of them tbh. Still I like them so I'm keeping them and there's nothing she can do about it as driven mainly by her, we're a recycling household so upcycling she can not complain about. See lads this is how you win at marriage and life 👆 got to beat them with their own weaknesses. Apply this to Brendon:.. all I can think is to whip him with gucci belts. Agree, My Mrs did a weird victory dance and laughed at my poor tear stained cheeks 🤣
ARTY_FOX Posted 16 October 2022 Posted 16 October 2022 Cant wait for him to be gone. I just can't believe our ownership is dropping the ball this badly. It's mind blowing there can be anyone alive that doesn't think he should go. I feel like I've taken crazy pills.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 16 October 2022 Posted 16 October 2022 This reminds me of Peter Taylor days but over a longer spell. Promising start and overachieving, but with obvious cracks underneath... But then turns to a complete farce, predictable selections, no obvious plan and a complete loss of any belief or confidence and a sense of inevitability on the pitch and within the stands.

I think I agree with you that his is a bit harsh but watching this shitshow, and his apparent lack of action, I think at least entitles you to an opinion, independent of his sad history. It's not exactly an uncommon event that future generations in family businesses can struggle. I feel that if things were going well he would want to be his own man and judged on his own merits, well the scales swing both ways. Nobody here does not sympathise and I think we as a fan base made that very clear. But, if he can't do it he should step aside. I don't necessarily want that but the criticism is definitely warranted. I've never openly criticised Top, probably largely due to those kind of reasons but no guilt trip is going to change our situation and we are Leicester fans, not Top's family business fans. PS. let it all out @Hinckleyfox, don't hold back, it's cathartic and will probably make us all feel a lot better 😚 I do agree we’re all allowed an opinion, and also agree that if Top isn’t up to the job he should put someone in charge who is. What I’m not convinced about is that his actions of showing faith in someone mean that he isn’t up to the job - but again, its just an opinion. However, the way the post I quoted was written was so disrespectful. And the reason I didn’t reply last night is because as someone that HAS been through a similar situation it was a massive kick in the bollocks to read it, and there is no way I could give a measured response. Whether the faith that Top is showing in BR is flawed or not (I do believe it is flawed, for the record) its no excuse to call him out as a spoilt little rich kid who has always got his own way. I’m sure that Top, like me, would give it all back in a heartbeat to have his Dad back. I love seeing peoples opinions on here, even when different to mine as it helps give a bigger picture. But some of the stuff posted about Top is horrific. With the post I quoted a great example of some awful people that we have on here. I just wish people would think before posting some this stuff. 6 1

On MOTD he brushed it off with a fairly standard PR soft reply. Something like “I understand why they’re frustrated” usual blah blah. The one with Matterface was worse. He effectively said he wasn’t arsed about the fans anymore and he’s only here for the players. Some manager he is!

Like I said yesterday, we’re at a point where I think most of the ground genuinely doesn’t care what happens to us now. It’s simply something to do on a weekend. The minute you stray from total neutrality on a match day it’s as if you’ve discriminated against someone. 2 1

taupe Posted 16 October 2022 Posted 16 October 2022 KP isn't run by one person and nether is the club. Top may well be the name but there'll be plenty of directors and advisors that'll be be talking to him, in various degrees of urgency. They all want to protect KP, the club and their own jobs. He won't be allowed to **** up monumentally, I would imagine he's had a number of respectful ear bendings already. He'll be well aware of where we are and the opinions. Give it time. Rodgers isn't turning this around.

orangecity23 Posted 16 October 2022 Posted 16 October 2022 Feels like we'll realistically be looking at the Man City game for him finally going. Can't see us beating Leeds, but a narrow defeat or draw will mean the board "giving him more time", followed by Wolves which is bound to be 0-0 or a 1-0 defeat, so they'll give him one more chance after that as well. Man City will turn up to the KP and absolutely annhilate us, and the board might finally wake up to the fact they should have done something after the Southampton game and they've thrown away half a season for nothing.
ARTY_FOX Posted 16 October 2022 Posted 16 October 2022 Keeping him is the biggest mistake the clubs made since Taylor. Probably be as disastrous. 3

It's not a 'job' - the football club is a thing that he owns, not his employer. As fans you get lucky with the owner or you don't. Also, it almost certainly won't be true. The club are remarkably good at avoiding leaks of stuff like this. 2

Okay, if we’re being that specific, I’ll change the word from ‘job’ to ‘role’. If the owner doesn’t have the fundamental skills to make decisions like this, then we’re f**ked. happy?
