He wouldn’t want to cough up the best part of £30 million of an already stretched transfer kitty and in the process look (to the outside world) a harsh sacking

Better that and get a manager capable of using the very good players we do have rather than needing a £100m war chest gamble to appease  Rodgers

We should keep BR ,best manager we have had ,imo he is already looking at bringing new players in for next season ,would like to see what POPOV Is like as he is scoring for fun in the under 23 squad ,Daka needs more time I think

Welcome to that opinion John.

I'm bored, really bored.

Which would be an option if the club think there is an outstanding candidate.

(Mancini won’t be coming here)

There isn't one either. Which manager is going to think this is a great gig when we've sacked a manager for a top half finish and a european semi?

Probably can't sack him for the top line facts. As others have said, it wouldn't play well in the football world and we may struggle to attract a top manager.

I hope his card is marked after this season. It probably is.

The moment we languish in 15th/16th and suffer another meltdown like the Spurs game, we'll pull the trigger.

Potential European glory aside, it's a long and painful wait until that point.

I realise how ridiculous that last sentence sounds. Suppose it's worth remembering we were favourites to win the Europa League at the start of the season to add some context.

I just wish he had taken the league a bit more seriously. We could and should of won the last three games. If he had we would of been right in with a chance of 7th.

I actually think we played some good football away at Newcastle and Everton but we were diabolical today.

At the end of the day, 2 points from Newcastle, Everton and Villa is not a good return, especially with what is a very strong squad that many premier league clubs would kill for.

I really think he needs that Europa Conference title.

Thats inevitable my friend 🙂

You might be right mate but I think if we were to win that trophy, that probably buys him another 6 months. I could be completely wrong of course!

I think you are spot on... Sadly.

I would be stunned of he made any progress with his methods, once this season has ended.

I'm so conflicted as a fan at the moment. I just want us to be better. The club in the main do a great job... The fist team results need to reflect that.

One who might believe that fans pay to see a side display attacking intent, and encourages the freedom to display flair by playing players in positions that suit their best attributes? One who thinks that the best use of the club's money is not to spunk it on hopeless defenders?

I don't know, maybe I'm just an irrational idealist who stupidly reckons the money charged for a ticket ought to equate to some enjoyment on matchday.

Derby went down to rapturous applause. The fans engaged with their desire to attempt to do something, to affect change on the pitch. Feck I miss following a side that does that.

I'd take Mourinho or even Dyche in a heartbeat compared with what we have.

It is so easy to feel like a change but I can't see a candidate that is an obvious and realistic alternative. I think if Rodgers was at another club having the same season and we had got rid of manager x lots here would say what about that Rodgers bloke.
