seems to have gone down well at Newcastle... Basically sounds like the club has overruled Bruce and is denying him the players he wants. Not a good sign for Newcastle, you’d think Bruce will be thinking about his future there.

Same guy now reporting that there's been a change of plan, with possibly 2 more inbound at St James'. Maybe the Hamza deal is back on.

Hamza would fit in at Steve Bruce huffing and puffing Newcastle side. Hell run around and clatter people and Newcastle fans will love him for his "efforts" and "desire". In reality he is a Championship level player. Likewise with Schlupp. But Hamza, like Schlupp, could carve out a decent Premier League life for himself if he's lucky. Otherwise hell drop down the divisions as the years go by, and by 27 hell be playing for Forest or Birmingham nicking a living.

Choudhury would do really well at Newcastle as they're one of the least possession teams in the PL.

Choudhury looks a star without the ball playing as a CM terrier rather than a CDM which he doesn't have the positional sense to play.

Not surprised that Newcastle are stalling on this. I imagine that his £60k per week pay packet as alluded to by @Chocolate Teapot is scaring them off for a player of limited quality. If he is to go then I think we'll still be paying at least half of his wages.

It’s not the wage but the loan fee according to Telegraph, who were briefed by Newcastle.

if its about wages just agree to what Newcastle want its best for everyone this loan happens, worst case he gets games before coming back next season best case he impresses enough for someone to buy him

Leicester should try and do a straight swap for Hamza with St Maximin 😄

Seriously though, he should be our target in the next window.

Would cost a lot, depending on what's left on his contract, but would be superb 👌

Would assume that means “talking about fee” rather than “Leicester trying to get another in first”

Well the tweet I posted says discussions are about how his wages will be divided, so who knows?

If I remember correctly, Hamza was called out by Bruce and Klopp who exaggerated the severity of his challenges to suit their own agendas.  Klopp, in particular, encouraged a slur campaign against Hamza on social media which resulted in awful comments with racial undertones.  These, together with injury, appeared to cause a drop in form and confidence.  He had, under Puel, performed well in several Prem games.

He's certainly had problems recapturing his mojo.  I think that's connected to him not being given a run of games and adjusting to how Brendan would want him to play, what role.

I'd accept that we now seem to have passed him by and the best route back for him is with a different club and new manager.  What I don't understand is what he has done to attract such disproportionately unfavourable comments from fans.

Yh I recall Klopp going way over the top, if memory serves he was trying to deflect from Mane diving for the pen that won them the game. No surprises though, Klopp is an absolute weapon.

Ferguson would have made Klopp look like a pussycat. Its tough at the top not much room for nice guys.
