I think he meant tenth because we were probably making no commercial revenue from shirt/stadium/training ground sponsers etc which is the problem and he was well within his rights to do that to increase funds that should be easily attainable enough that most other prem clubs have.

But the Shirt was sponsored and

the Ground was sponsored how were we making no commercial revenue?

"Commercially we’re 10th, for budget we are eighth”

that was a quote taken after the new sponsor was announced.

I know I saw it. King power (and rightly so) hardly paid over and above what 10th in the PL leugue would would they? To the owners it was raising our profile to Asia and their business etc and not paying the going rate for sponsorships.

Have they ever heard of due diligence in Norwich? Embarrassing.

I wonder if they will get Delia involved in some of the advertising?

Norwich have had a mare with this.

Gambling companies shouldn't be allowed to advertise on shirts anyway. If it were down to me Gambling wouldn't be advertised at all.

There is no way I'd purchase a replica shirt if it had a gambling sponsor on it - hopefully enough Norwich fans will feel the same!

Football fans are very fickle with their principles and defensive when it involves their own club in anything dubious so I wouldn't bet on it  (pun intended)

Could have been worse, only need to look at Norwich's new sponsor...

Gamling company with what can only be described as a very interesting approach to marketing if you check the comments on the below tweet... that "interesting" the company had to delete their instagram

"We are aware of BK8 being a gambling....."

"However as a new PL club we need the revenue but we'll act responsibly....."

He sounds like he's bending over and taking one as well when in reality they are the client.

Thanks, that thought has just put me off my breakfast.

:revenge:

It could be argued that FBS is a gambling firm as they specialise in share dealing. However, I don't think any dodgy advertising is involved.

Sadly they are the businesses with the money to splash around especially during these lockdowns when their income is booming, in many respects as a country / peoples we're reaping what we're sowing although often at people's expense.

It's strange but it seems that if you aren't an assured club I.e. Big enough to dictate their sponsors then they seem to exert control over the club they sponser. It'd be interesting to see the makeup of the deal that they've got but for the life of me I've never seen a video like that for a sponsor nor have I seen a club rep in a video like that mentioning top ex-players from other clubs.

Been obvious for a number of years that having KP on the shirts had constrained our ability to grow commercial revenue.

So any upgrade on that is obviously welcome, whatever it is.

It does prompt a wider question though - if they’d accept a new shirt sponsor, would they accept a new stadium sponsor?

Anyone know when that deal runs out?

It's a 3 year sponsorship worth a rumoured £30mil a year.

I don’t know why this 4m figure persists when the accounts state they have been paying 16m for stadium and shirts in the last couple of years. Think they were underpaying before that though but that’s when it was still under Treatellar arrangement that we used to try to get round EFL FFP.

Obviously, it’s an all-in-one with no reported separate values but if you were to separate it, shirt sponsorship is more lucrative than stadium naming so they’ve clearly been paying more than 4m for the shirt sponsorship.
This deal being 30m struggles to pass the sniff test but it’s possible, certainly be more than 10-12m

Probably our worst looking sponsor since Topps Tiles (which wasn't even that bad)

Not so sure about the product they’re advertising but like the way it looks on the shirt.I think it makes us look like a German team for some reason.

Well it’s a bit like the FSB but hopefully different. It’s not betting at least but it’s close in many ways...

Nowhere yet coming out with the value of the 3-year deal...

Also surprised there is the name of the platform plus a strap line/ sub head - ‘trade online’ is that normal, new or even allowed?

At least ist Not the other FBS....FOsters Brew Shit...

Or in German. Familie Beratung & Support..( Though a Great cause)

At first glance this might make no business sense but what about paying a charity to have their name on our shirt? Yes, we'd be losing revenue in that area from a paying sponsor but we'd be further emaphasiing our ethical principles on a global scale.

Imagine walking around with Cancer Research or some other charity that resonates with every corner of the globe. To me that would be priceless and make me so proud.
