Will be a great option for us next season but I'd be amazed if the club are lining him up to be our main right winger next season.

It will be an interesting summer. They wanted to replace Maguire, but didn't want to be overcharged, and Cags stepped up. I think KDH and Sowah have a couple of weeks to prove their worth to the manager (of course, I thought Knight might be given the same chance, so realize I am talking out of my posterior.)

I think Knight was never seen as having much of a chance of staying by the club as he was never given a new contract, we just used an option to extend it to get some money for him

KDH, Sowah, and Iversen have all been given new long term contracts recently, which I think shows there is a bit more expectation they could eventually feature for us

You could have said the same thing about Soyuncu when Maguire left.

Yes he had a couple of seasons Bundesliga, but there was no really sign that he was anywhere near the level to fill the gap.

We did try and replace Maguire but we're priced out of a move.

I really hope Sowah has a good pre-season, I've no doubt he'll show flashes of brilliance next season but he'll not be relied upon for a whole season so if he's the only alternative to Albrighton or heaven forbid Perez then we will be in bother again, likewise with no alternative to Barnes either.

Barnes, New Right Winger, Sowah, Albrighton

Yes please, Sowah has played wide left a fair bit too so he can cover either flank well.

Can also cover as a 10 as well if needed

That versatility could be a massive positive in his favour in getting game time next season

Sowah is a great option, he’s left footed and quick so adds two things we need. With Barnes injured last season we had zero dynamism on the wings.

Perez and Albrighton out wide was just completely unworkable because they’re basically DMs.

When people talk about us signing a backup right winger - this guy is exactly that. He's got something about him. A bit raw but he would have cost 5-10m if we'd signed him, KDH would have been 10-15m too.

Perez and Albrighton out wide together doesn't work, our play is too slow and we can't stretch the game.

As exciting as Daka and Soumare are I'm looking forward to seeing what Sowah and KDH are about just as much. If one or both of them are up to it then it'll be a huge bonus.

I’m thrilled with how they’ve done on loan, especially KDH! I’m becoming impressed with our squad and how it’s shaping up.

Cue the Puel-Gate style meltdown when we start a game with Sowah up front

What I would say about this is he would often play in different positions in the same game, switching throughout but he was mainly used either wide Right or wide Left. Started the season unbelievably as a right winger but as his form dipped and Al-Taamari settled in he moved to the left wing. His best position is as a right winger.

I also saw an interview where he stated “my favourite player is Sully Mutari, as he plays in my position”  he’s a center mid!!

What?

You have implied that the legend Albrighton and Perez are on a par.

You have said they are DMs.  It is very possible that you don't understand football.

This is also the guy that reports claim can play DM. So he's basically our cover for everywhere

I wasn’t being 100% literal, blimey.

Their main attribute is their work rate. For a side challenging for a European place we can’t be relying on players whose primary strength is that they do a lot of running. Neither are quick or good dribblers, Sowah offers a completely different option to those two.
