But you have to caveat that with the sale of Maguire (80M) and Chilwell (50m) a net spend of 30m across two season.

Rodgers in last season “I said at the beginning of the season we might have needed up to five players in key areas if we wanted to improve the squad,”  we got 2 and a loan.

He will leave if he get a job offer that provides him with more of an opportunity to be successful i.e. more backing.

Suggesting that King Power will not give him that backing?

You have contradicted yourself, so your saying he wouldn't get more too spend at Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea?

They have more prestige but also deeper pockets, which means more backing in the transfer market.

He would, but that won’t be the only reason he leaves us for them, it will be because they are a bigger club, not purely because they can give him more money to spend

An offer from a club of similar size to us that can offer more backing he wouldn’t leave for

The main reason there being that we have a better squad than the likes of Everton and Villa so even £50m more a season for a few years would only put them on a par with what he's got to work with here.

I think they'll back him this summer anyway with the 5 signings he wants.

So if Everton said we are going to be the new Man City and we are going to give you 300m to spend a year, you think he wouldn't be interested.

Unlikely to happen, but he would be interested.

I hope so, I don't think we can rest on our laurels.

Think that Rodgers and Top have a unique relationship compared to most clubs. Just something I felt watching them after we won the cup. Think that both of them know exactly where each other stand and are completely honest with each other. What's being built here takes time and patience something the big money clubs never have nor do they aspire to. There's an X factor here for Rodgers and I'm not sure if I know what it is because for most of us who watch the business of anything it's not just about money and fame. I'm really not sure if Rodgers views his career the same way we think he should.

List of most major trophies in the past 20 seasons: Chelsea: 17 Man City: 13 Man United: 13 Arsenal: 9 Liverpool: 9, sort of disagrees with that.

Does it sort all your problems, no. But it makes it a lot easier.

Who's the next highest on that list?

...clearly stated "sometimes " in my original post!!!

As you said it does not solve all problems but having the finance and unable to use it to build a viable team was the sentiment.

I know us, but the point still stands money make it easier.

Throw enough sh*t at the wall and some of it will stick.

Looks really good. Anyone think he’s good enough to start RW next season? First sub if we play a 3-5-2?

Hopefully will be our wildcard, we've badly needed one off the bench in recent years.

Only issue is squeezing him in to EL squad. Should probably be sound for the 25 man PL squad but for Europe we will be quite pushed for naming all of our squad.

I’ll be interesting to see how he deals with the transition from leagues. He’s got age on his side anyway.

Is U21 and was signed 3.5 years ago. Surely counts as home-grown and therefore can be on the B List?

That would be quite the bonus if so.

No, I don't think he will count as home-grown. I think a player has to train in the country for a minimum of 3 years between the ages of 16 and 21 to qualify. I may be wrong about the numbers, but I'm pretty sure he won't count.

I believe he doesn't count unfortunately as although he was our player, he has been with Leuven for that time

A loaned out player still counts as time spent with us. So you could sign a player at 16, him spend five seasons abroad for 5 years and it’ll still count as club trained.

He can play on the right and appears to be left footed....

Hmm.

Will be a great option for us next season but I'd be amazed if the club are lining him up to be our main right winger next season.
