Kamal Sowah

I thought he looked OK but you can't really judge too much on a game like that. Was clearly a fitness exercise for us. Nobody really had that good a game except possibly Soumare and KDH.

I’m not sure completely why but I’d love to see a front three of Barnes Daka and Sowah at some point, reckon it could cause some carnage

The pace of that front 3 would be frightening

Way too early to form a solid opinion but he looked equally as interested in tracking back as he does going forward which Brendan will 💘

This was the thing I noticed too. It was really noticeable.

Looks like the lad has an engine, real work rate and the desire to impress. That's just 45 minutes though.

Love to see him do that over a full 90.

Not sure I watched the same Kamal Sowah as the rest of you. Looks lightweight, poor first touch and not much clue what to do with the ball. Reminded me of Momo Sylla.

It would be a decent line and sowah would add the balance with his defensive work rate.

Probably one to try out in Europa

Europa was just what I was thinking to! Providing Sowah isn’t going out on Loan we finally have some depth in the attacking areas 😍

Thing I noticed was how accurate his passing was from the forward right position to a player in a central position surrounded by Burton players.

He impressed me by not doing too much but the things he did do looked very promising.

Thought he was fine and imagine he will be quite involved in Europa at least. Would like to see how he gets on playing in front of Ricardo or Castagne during preseason.

Daley-Campbell looks doggo to me.. Ricardo or Castagne are  different class.

VDC has never stood out to me (at least not in a good way anyway!).

That's because he's got 3 lungs.

Looks pacey but was very safe in possession yesterday. Times he could of ran at the full back but didn’t. Hopefully just a confidence thing and will come with more games.

I don't think it helped that VDC didn't seem to overlap him very often and stayed back, quite often he was doubled up on and didn't have a lot of choice but be safe and come inside with it

VDC didn’t look comfortable did he.

...watched him play in the U23s and have never been impressed!!!

Defensively he is poor, but going forward he is not too bad, but you really cannot have a defender that can be so poor in defence.

Never going to make it here, not in a million years!

Don't know what BR sees in him?

This young player is one to take a chance on this season. He looks really keen to impress and given he does not play in a crucial position the odd mistake shouldn't matter. If he can build an understanding with Ricky this could boost our right sided attacking threat very handily.

Hasn't stood out in the games I've seen him, but also not looked noticeably out of place either. Need to see more of him but I imagine he will feature in some cup games and this will be very much a chance to stake his claim for coming seasons.

It appears to me that he's not got out of 3rd gear with us, is keeping it very simple and is focused on going along with what he's been instructed to do. I was impressed and surprised with the defensive discipline of his game as he's seen as a mercurial attacker who comes alive in the attacking third and isn't that bothered about tracking back but he's clearly capable and I think the more settled he becomes here the more confidence we'll see in him on the ball.

I don't think he'll be one to make 20+ starts in the PL but we are crying out for fearless impact players to come in to games where we look the bins or even see games out on the front foot as his pace is frightening. There were times last season where the opposition in Belgium were on their arse in the closing minutes and Sowah was still running at full pelt time and time again and that is something we get a lot of joy under Rodgers. In games where we are in total control we take teams apart in the final quarter of games.

I felt last season we had no real game changers on the bench, having watched Sowah last season, and KDH in pre-season I think we have a couple of players that could make an impact off the bench now.
