Birmingham have to play Chelsea and Man City.

Both of those are before we play again so we could be safe by the time the final games come around anyway.

Hope so, but I never trust football.

Oh so true. The love and dedication we show it yet it turns round time and again to slap us in the face. It’s an ungrateful twat of a sport. lol

Was just about to post this superb story.

The top flight is a waste of time in its current guise. A decent Villa team beaten 7-0 today by Arsenal.

With Liverpool now investing in their team and getting promoted it will be a clone of the unbalance PL.

They had the chance to create an independent or at least a level playing field financially but yet again it's been hi-jacked by the PL's SL6.

It's been around for years and they weren't interested until they saw the possibility  of earning some more £sss off the back of it.

Birmingham have certainly improved in recent weeks, while we seemed to have gone backwards again.  Today's point for our ladies was important, because with Birmingham losing tonight, they have to go to Man City and win the game to give themselves a chance of staying up against Villa next week. They showed tonight against Chelsea that they can be hard to break down when they sit back and defend. The fact that they have to win against Man City means at some point they will have to come out and play, and Man City should hopefully be able to exploit that.  There has to be a big improvement in player recruitment for us to stay up next season though.

It's not helping the clubs in the bottom half develop if they are getting continually tonked by the big clubs. And it's not helping the big clubs in Europe if they have such an easy time domestically. Beginning to think it would be better if the WSL split in two at some point in the season like the Scottish Premiership.

.....as this league is still in its infancy, we need to see it continue to develop!!!

If this continue to be a league controlled by 2 or 3 elite teams then we will have to take a long look, at how to make it more competitive. As more teams become professional the better the league will become as we can source players from Europe as much as the Premier League (Men's game) do right now, and will also push on the skillset of the British players.

Next season will be interesting as we seek to improve.

Anybody who follows the ladies game know how Birmingham have improved so much over the last few weeks?

Polar opposite to us and I've no idea why.

Possibly that they’re in a real scrap, it’s do or die and most likely die doing. We had our purple patch a couple of months back coinciding with our games against them, that put them in the hole they’re desperately trying to get out of.

....we do look as if we have regressed!!!

We have started to look as bad as we were at the start of the season and showing little sign of improvement in their play or ability on the ball. We tend to collapse and go to pieces very quickly, we will need players of stronger character and players with more pace. Every team can beat us with pace, players are much quicker and we are naïve in the decisions that we make as individual players.

they are basically safe, Birmingham need to win both of their last 2 games shame they didn't a little better luck Sunday though

I still don't get why they keep playing 343, their best player has barely featured this season in part as she doesn't fit this system

....is that Devlin or Barker, either not getting game time this season!!!

The 3-4-3 is not too bad a system, Howard, Plumptre and Tierney works well with Howard in the centre. Plumptre and Tierney are very good on the ball when bringing it out. We do struggle in the middle of the park and have little fire power or pace upfront.

Going down to the last game at Tottenhams ground next Sunday. Is there anybody else on here who have booked tickets through the spurs website?  We cannot work out if they will be emailed to us or if we have to download them in someway. It was bad enough having to become a member to book the tickets but it seems to be asking us to upload identity etc.

I was thinking of Devlin but yes their captain cannot get in for the same reason, they are playing a CB in midfield to make it work

Birmingham just started against Man City.

They have to win to take it to Sunday's final matchday. Draw not good enough.

0-0 at half time
