We've been working really hard defensively (well, for an hour anyway!) but, yes, fitness levels is another difference at this level.

Watched most of the match and felt they never looked like scoring. Too many basic fundamental errors from not closing down to not passing the ball properly or control.

 

Unfortunately, they have a long way to go to be a force to be reckoned with particularly after the second half capitulation.

Two of their last 4 games are against Man City and Chelsea so unlikely.  We need a big improvement next season though if we do stay up, because with Liverpool coming up, I doubt the points needed for safety next season will be so low.

Didn’t really look like scoring apart from one Flint chance she probably should have done better with but they defended stoutly, rode their luck at times and the keeper made some very good saves. Unfortunately the second goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of them after the effort they’d put in to keep it at 1-0.

I see Liverpool have just won the Championship so it will really will start to look and behave like the unbalanced PL.

watched 2 of the strangest sporting events today,LCFC ladies had half a shot and 2 corners and the tv managed to turn it into a great effort  then the boat race which is always always won by the boat that gets in front and again tv turned it into a great sporting event,To be fair it has a lot of tradition jolly hockey sticks and all but an absolute non tv event.

The problem is that the BBC are desperate for some football coverage and when they get some they tend to pick one of the big 5 soon to be 6 so Arsenal and who cares who they are playing and whether it’ll be any sort of contest.

 

Plus with only 12 teams and the super 5 taking up nearly half the league it’s even harder to see them putting on any games that don’t include one of these, this also applies to Sky

played really well until they got tired. needed to make subs but only one was used then the floodgates opened.

 

Desperately need to get Tierney out of midfield she's a good CB not a CM, letting Remi Allen go was such a huge error by Morgan, never properly explained.

I always thought the women's team would be pants this year having bought so many handme down players from existing wsl clubs in the summer. God knows what salaries they offered them but it's clear that changing the team in the manner that we did and changing players like its rugby season was always going to go either way.

 

We are lucky that we'll probably hang on, but if we do, we need another shakeup again.

....yes the cull was unexpected but perhaps not to the interested parties working behind closed doors!!!

Once Bedford signs up, I sort of get the feeling that she is not too keen, but we need to get some stability and a plan in place and identify the players we want to bring in. Genuine pace is what is required, Gregory is perhaps the one who uses her speed best on the pitch.

In her interview on thre wsl show she more or less said she'd love the job if offered it at the end of the season.
