Strange decision to be honest, may as well have put Braybrooke on the bench and gave him some minutes considering Brunts main position is centre back.

Braybrooke looks a talented player but there is no way he is ready yet for first team football, he's just not physically strong enough.

Luke Thomas looks like a little boy among men, Sammy would look like a babe in arms

Delighted to see any of the Dev sq getting a game with the first team. I suspect Br chose him because he is a big lad and wanted to see how he'd get on in midfield.

What I disliked about him today was his lack of enthusium. He coasted through the game at times when urgency was needed to cover or support others.

I'd certainly send him out on loan next season.

But who'll buy him & if anyone does they certainly won't pay him what we do so I can't see him leaving

Contract is up in 2023 so he's going sooner rather than later anyway.

I hope I'm wrong but that being the case I just see him sitting on his backside till the end of next season

I thought exactly the same. I love seeing any player come through the system to play for us and probably too lenient on them but I was really disappointed by that. I know the days are gone when it's about coming on and running around all over the place, but I'd have liked to see a bit more of that and the desire to do something.

...I would suspect he was playing under instructions!!!

Rodgers seems to sap the spontaneity out of players and leave them unable to express their individuality. We are very robotic on the pitch.

Yes, But I doubt even Brendan would send a player out to stroll through a game as Brunt done at times today. He seemed way to relaxed for a player making his prem debut.

It's usually a sign of a player overawed by the occasion or over confident in his abity.

Congratulations to Lewis Brunt on his premier league debut. Did okay when he come on, nothing special. Speaks volumes for hamza though I think that this lad came on ahead of him?

It was a dead rubber, if you're not going to give the youngsters a chance then, then when? We all know what Hamza can/can't do.

Brunt can play at DM, LB & CB. I wouldn’t be surprised is he features a fair bit next season because of his versatility

I can see Brunt replacing Amartey in 2023 as a versatile option in the squad.

(Not saying Amartey should leave but his contract is up in 2023 and we may choose not to renew. Maybe Brunt would be a good replacement).

Just play our academy players - chuck 'em in. They are one of our own, there is nothing to lose.

Then.... Well, they were a bit sh*t for that 20 minutes they got whilst we played our b team. Get rid!

I'd guess that Rodgers's told him to take it careful and just to keep the ball moving don't try and do anything different or special, well that's what he seems to have told the rest of the team. :P

Would be a bit disappointed if Rodgers told him to run around like his life depended on it, go flying in to anything you see, and just go nuts.

Yes, That's pretty much what you would tell young players making their debut. Except to say don't do anything rash or stupid.

From the the few cameos he's played for us he does look to have that laid back attitude. Or maybe it's just talent. You know how really good players always seem to have that extra time on the ball becuase of their skill.

Maybe Brendan will keep him in the squad for the few games that's left to see how he handles it. Then decide what to do with him in the Summer Loan him out or become a squade player.

The fact that he can play afew positions is a bonus. But I still think we'd both benifit greatly from a season in the Championship.

...can't really refer to it as a dead rubber, the outcome affects other clubs, and has a bearing on monies which we could use to offset our summer spending!!!
