He’s pressing was good when I’ve scene. Haven’t been convinced by his touch and all round play as of yet, will develop physically quite abit in next 12/18 months so could see him get stronger and his touch improve.

.....his touch seemed fine to me, he was great out of possession and kept their backline guessing!!!

His build is not an issue at this moment, he is well balanced on the ball and a marked feature of his play. Out of all the players last night he looks the most ready to get on the field and play with the first team.

Braybrooke lacks physicality although very good on the ball, has a tendency to chase after the ball to correct his mistakes, has vision.

Wormleighton great going forward, was beaten twice and left us exposed in defence but we recovered the situation, hopefully he can sort that part of his game out.

Maswanhise had one good run and failed to release the ball to someone in an unmarked position, he has this tendency to be greedy, seemingly fails to link when required.

Madivadua showed great skill several times spinning his man on the touchline, but then chose to carry the ball laterally across the pitch, taking away the impetus to attack.

An update on Petty, Branston and other academy staff within this link.

Thought this might happen, Petty has done fairly well, especially recently. Hopefully he doesn't revert to type though of playing a system that doesn't mirror the 1st team and disjointed sides. He's got a high calibre crop of players coming through to nurture and prepare for our 1st team, it'll be a huge surprise if at least 2 of Young, Wormleighton, Nelson, Braybrooke, Wanya Marca, Alves and Popov don't make our 1st team plus many others who could well be good enough.

i don’t want to be irrational but this crop is going to be our class of 95… i just know it. Add in iverson and wright to the mix and we could almost have an academy 11  as barnes, kdh and thomas aren’t going anywhere

I think many share your excitement! Especially now Popov has come in - a missing piece in the jigsaw perhaps.

Under 18s kicked off at home against Southampton at 11

Subs: Weeks, McAlinney, Lewis, Javid, Butterfill

Do we have a player called Liam Buggs (the number 10)? Or do we think just a mistake and it is meant to be Logan Briggs?

Why Godsmark-Ford has not entered the U18 squad for two consecutive times

He was on the bench for the u23s against Man Utd a couple weeks ago. Maybe he’s staying with the u23s alongside Popov. Not really sure though, could just be injured.

that's on the academy director to mandate that he plays the same system as the first team

....shouldn't worry too much about this, if you watch the U23s you can see they do the same nonsense passing it around the box only for the Keeper to hoof it up the field!!!

Supposedly clubs can't stream PL2 games if a PL games is on at the same time...

....an absolutely ridiculous rule!!!

Who ever is playing in the Premier League tonight, I have no interest in. I am however interested in watching the development players that may or may not come into our first team, show me why I should be hopeful.

Are the Premier League or Sky, so unsure of what they are offering, that they feel threatened by development football!!

I guess advertisers pay what they do for an audience? If several PL2 games are on at the same time, that's a decent chunk of viewers lost. Even people with not much interest in the TV games will still have them on, even if it's just in the background. Sad reality of commercialism I guess, and the fact that the Premier League have jurisdiction over the top U23 and U18 divisions.
