Good win.I only saw the 2nd half, but it looked comfortable.

Nip and tuck from what I saw of the first half. West Ham good spells of possession but we were more effective with it and pressed really well from the front. Didn't see beyond 25 minutes but sounds like we acquitted ourselves well. They have one or two decent prospects themselves, I think, so that's a really good result.

We looked a different side when Braybrooke and Alves came on. Madivadua came alive with those two around him. Great strike to win us the match. That was the best performance I've seen from VDC by far. VDC and McAteer were the match workhorses. I watched the entire thing and didn't see too much from Nelson. Stolarczyk made some immense saves. By far our man of the man, I'd say. Eppiah looked decent when he was on. You'd expect interest. He looked knackered before his sub.

Has potential to have some sort of professional career but I think league 2 is his level at best right now.

...he really is looking worse than before, whatever he was asked to do on loan has skewed his skillset!!!

I wondered why he was struggling on loan as he was one of the players we were looking at to move forward, he has played for the first team, but he is charging around the pitch like a pub player, pushing players over not knowing how to challenge.

He did improve in the second half when he went more central and more forward, but he needs to get himself back on track.

Overall Leicester were pretty decent, but its hard to know how good the opposition are. West Ham are top of the league though and Sonny Perkins looks a good player

....he took his goal well!!!

Much preferred their #7 (Nevers) and #11 (Okoflex).  Nevers has good skills, the turn against I believe McAteer was brilliant, and lead to Perkins tucking the ball away just inside the box.

Okoflex had a few runs at our defence where he was beating players for fun, not a good thing to see as it required someone to be committed to tackle him and we looked like the first team, reacting as opposed to being proactive in stopping him. Would love to pick him up, we need someone who can commit a defence.

He is usually more cultured but looks sluggish and not bringing players in. He needs to be working more further up the pitch and move the ball around more.

To be fair, he's bound to be rusty having got no games in his loan.

Wonder if some of these might get a loan in the next week?

Maswanhise has done well for the U23's this season and yet Rodgers hasn't deemed him worthy of a call up to the 1st team so we need to be prioritising him a loan move ASAP. The likes of McAteer, Brunt, Wanya Marca all might still get the odd chance this season but again I'd love to see them get some proper first team football over the 2ns half of this season.

I’m so confused how maswanhise has seemingly fallen down the profession order to the first team, was probably our best player pre season and was sure he’d be getting chances for us this season.

Yeah, very odd. He's also then proceeded to be played up front for the majority of the U23 season as Petty switched from 4-3-3 to 3-4-1-2 after a few weeks and yet he's still scored at a decent rate. Needs a League One loan.

....I like the way he is so sneaky, he deliberately comes at the keeper on their blindside at lightening speed!!!

A few time times he managed to get a block when the keeper was kicking from the floor and could have picked up another goal if the ball had bounced right for him.

Playing upfront today does not give a chance to see him link too well with the other players, on two occasions a long ball down the middle just was not controlled as he would have been in. He can look a bit erratic but he loves to make a pest of himself, like to see him with the ball at his feet more, he wasn't holding it for long enough.

Wonder if it’s about developing him in multiple positions rather than just one?

Thst tends to be coached in to them at a younger level, but there might be a touch of that still happening. I just don't see what the point is of playing a system the 1st team only use as a last resort when the U23's don't even have the players for it either. We don't have wing backs nor many strikers. Why aren't Lindsay, Pennant and Popov promoted up from the U18's to fill those gaps if needs be?

Banes was creative midfield in the academy and only a winger at West Brom. I'd have liked to see Maswanhise as a winger, for sure, that match.

No he wasn't, Barnes played out wide mainly for the academy. He was moved in to the 10 role more at West Brom when they switched from a back 4 to a back 3.

I definitely remember him playing centrally in the academy.

Maybe he did some of the time but he was always seen as a winger if I cast my mind back. I may be wrong though.

I don't think it is a last resort, he's been going to it since his very first game in charge here. If Rodgers has Evans Soyuncu and Fofana available I guarantee he'd start with a back five, as he did in the second half of the previous two seasons.

....there was one occasion, playing for the U23s, where he came inside, but that was because he was being used upfront but sat deeper than his support!!!
