UK to bake in 33C amid extreme heat warning

With Met office warnings of temperatures reaching 40 deg on Monday Tuesday, how will you manage? How will the heat affect you, do you think? What will you do to if you work outdoors?

I'm not sure what we will do, we have a south facing garden that gets the sun all day so there's not an option to sit outside in the shade.

It's horrendous. The trend of 35 heat degree has become an annual thing instead of once a decade.

I'll do what people in hot countries do. Stay indoors or in the shade all day and generally do very little til 7 ish at night

I reckon Tuesday sees the heat record set in lincs, Yorks, leics or cambs rather than the se.

mon night will be bloody awful trying to sleep ….

Bedford meant to hit 41c.

Meant to be doing visits for work but might swiftly cancel those!

Hate those muggy nights.

Ime, it's still pretty darned warm until late in the night. Mornings are the best time to work, if you have to work.

The one on the left was from before we had fancy display techniques which show the temp variation with coloured background (hotter = redder and colder = bluer

next you’ll be showing us magnetic sunshine symbols and asking why we can’t go back to that !

The heat will be unprecedented in this country - the only saving grace will be that humidity will be low so a dry heat.

Unfortunately Royal Mail will insist I go outside and kill myself.

A dry death is better than a sweaty one for sure!

I'm sure I heard it right on a weather forecast earlier.  Expect thousands of fatalities on Monday.  The scaremongering reaches out past covid I see.

Is it scaremongering if even you aren’t exactly sure what they said lol
