The striker's through, running onto it with only the onrushing keeper to beat. Who do you want on the end of it - Daka or Vardy? RVN
Popular Post Gevans_97 Posted 8 February 2025 Popular Post Posted 8 February 2025 Deserves to have played more this year and I think it would have benefitted both him and Vards. Vards has started every PL game this year and you can tell, he’s nowhere near up to it. Should have rotated more like Enzo did last year. only the champ but when Patson had a run of 9 starts last year he scored 7 and assisted 3. Vardy completed 1 pass in 60 mins at Everton, 6 touches, 0 duels won. Daka in 80 mins yday - 19 passes (2 key), 41 touches, 6 duels won. At the moment, Daka offers more in general play and should be given a couple of starts, just to see how he gets on. I think we look better with him in the team. Vards’ minutes need to be handled better by RVN. Don’t care who you are - 1 goal in 8 starts deserves dropping! 7 1

Strange that you only picked the 9 starts and not 12, culminating in 3 straight losses or the fact that after that purple patch he started 6 more games and scored 0 and 4 of those 6 games ended in defeat Edited 8 February 2025 by HankMarvin 3
Popular Post Sampson Posted 8 February 2025 Popular Post Posted 8 February 2025 (edited) The height of desperation when the dance of people trying to reason for Daka to start comes round every couple of months. We have this cycle every now and again where people seem to forget he’s shit and start reasoning he scored 4 against a bottom half Russian side once. He’s dreadful, one of the biggest flops in the clubs history, he barely looked good enough for the Championship last season, I know we’re not great atm but he’s not the answer. But he did actually offer something different in that we got in/nearly got a few times, from a simple clip over the top, something that doesn't happen with Vardy atm. We need to find a way of turning opposition defences round and he at least did that. Of course he's not a long term solution but some people seem blinded to our situation, and the reality is that he's all we've got so might as well be utilised. Edited 8 February 2025 by dmayne7 2

After that game he was useless his confidence went to pot and he’s been crap ever since
richardsfoxes Posted 8 February 2025 Posted 8 February 2025 It sucks but I don't trust him to take his chances, that's my issue with him.

My only argument for starting Patson is how much he does actually make the pitch so much bigger by being able to run in behind. Vardy is the GOAT but he is actually making us easier to play against in 2025, the guy can’t run. Vards can’t play the amount of games he is playing. As we get older, your body breaks down. The fact he is playing as many games and minutes as he is, is disgraceful. Despite it, the man has 8 goals this season. If he carries on as he is, he will get 12-15 goals at 38 years old - that is a phenomenal return. We need to use him smartly to get him there. A fiery Vardy in the last few games could be priceless. If we keep playing him 90 minutes every week, he’ll be out of it or not as effective come the end of the season. Daka has all the qualities on paper to (at the very least stretch teams) he didn’t do that yesterday, he played Maguire at his game and to be honest, it was quite an easy night for him and his mates. I’ve seen Daka do it before but most of the time he doesn’t. As someone with heritage from the same part of world that he comes from, I’m desperate for him to be a success. The Patson we’ve seen for the last 2 seasons is not the Patson we first saw and genuinely think he needs a fresh start.
Foxin_Mad Posted 8 February 2025 Posted 8 February 2025 I'd still be tempted to play Daka wide as I do feel his general play and movement can be helpful, especially in a squad as limited as ours. The real criminal thing is that the club doesn't really have another option other than Vardy. Despite Rudkin spaffing 200 million quid.

The only logic to why they seem to be thrashing a 38 year old is that he’s seen as the best bet to score in that game and to hell with the risk of him getting injured as it’s his last season anyway!
HankMarvin Posted 8 February 2025 Posted 8 February 2025 Can’t believe there isn’t a good youth striker that could get minutes and be utilised next year 2

Realist Guy In The Room Posted 8 February 2025 Posted 8 February 2025 Look he works hard and does some stuff ok, but the fact is, when you have a side like ours that doesn’t exactly piss goals, you need your striker to be a threat. He doesn’t ever, EVER look like scoring. 1
KFS Posted 8 February 2025 Posted 8 February 2025 He unlocks Bilal for the full game who isn’t doing Vardy’s running. Vardy is my hero but enough is enough. Needs to come off the bench 2
Ian Nacho Posted 8 February 2025 Posted 8 February 2025 I thought he was pretty anonymous yesterday. 2

It's just simply a knock on effect from the lack of good recruitment. Our forward options are a disgrace. 3
Edingleyfox Posted 9 February 2025 Posted 9 February 2025 Agree really struggling with forward options. Just a bit worried as Dake came off with an injury and I don’t think Vardy was fit either.Cannon seemingly surplus to requirements. I know the defence has shipped only 1 goal less than bottom club Southampton but the attacking side is not much higher in the standings
HarryDee8 Posted 14 February 2025 Posted 14 February 2025 Question: If daka had the same amount of minutes as vards this season, would he have scored more or less then him?

trabuch Posted 14 February 2025 Posted 14 February 2025 I genuinely think Vardy off the bench is a better option than Vardy off when he's knackered.
