The fact Ancelottis real Madrid looks like someone just picked the best players on the playground without having a clue how to manage them doesnt matter

I don't think it looks like that at all. They know how to play teams that play more attractive football than them and don't give up under pressure. Plus, their GK was outstanding.

''What proof that these are Liverpool fans?'' Who else do you think they were? Are you suggesting that non-Liverpool fans have travelled to Paris in order to misbehave and discredit the genuine Liverpool fans?

Paris these days is basically a permanent tinder box which could explode at any moment. They've had major riots, the burning of one of the world's most historic buildings and they have to put up with a state of constant low-level urban warfare. The police there are not going to suffer fools gladly.

Are you referencing the Notre Dame fire, which was started during renovations and not arson, or have I missed something?

Only another 9 weeks to wait until Klopp is moaning about playing football again.

And Klopp can say the break wasn't long enough.

Then he just has to wait a few more months til he moans about playing so soon following the world cup finishing, despite Liverpool being the last club to do so...

Ok, so ive never followed Leicester or England away, so I have a few questions.

1) on the checkpoints thing, is this the police, or delegates from UEFA/ stewards that check the tickets for being real or not?

2) If my ticket is checked and its fake, who stops me and where do I go? where am I sent to and by whom? whats stopping me getting to the stadium anyway?

3) How should the police respond and bring order to an escalating situation that isnt going to result in some kind of force?

4) I thought UEFA worked with the police from the city but also the police from the cities of the teams in order to create the arrangements on the day and stop such situations becoming bad, so what happens in this regard?

Ultimately ive got no desire to follow a team away in europe because the experience sounds expensive and totally shit, so the point is moot.

1) Normally a mix but predominantly stewards. At Roma, I think there were three searches for example, one of those conducted by the police

2) You are refused entry past the checkpoint quite simply and told to turn back.

3) If they appropriately organise the checkpoints well in advance of the stadium, once turned the person with the fake ticket gets nowhere the stadium. And you are already elude to the club stewards in no4 to defuse these situations.

4) They do but largely the police from the countries are powerless. They can’t use any powers, all they can do is advise the French police and if they use to action that or not is their choice. There are a number of stewards from the clubs involved dotted around if you use these in the right places, you can help situations which occur.

If ive got a fake ticket, why would i need to be anywhere near a "match zone" though. Whats stopping me getting my fake ticket, going about my own thing and turning up at the stadium and creating the issue?

To soak up the atmosphere? This isn’t Burnley away in November, it’s a champions league final!! I could barely get to the kp for the trophy lift match against Everton given the amount of ticketless fans in the area to enjoy themselves. Likewise at our matches at Randers and Roma, loads of ticketless got in. Reports of lads passing tickets between each other at psv. You’re acting like this a new phenomenon lol.

The English press are all saying its a shambles caused by the organisers. But I've not seen anywhere near the same issues reported I'm the Madrid end and you could see it was far more orderly in their end?

It's not just isolated to Liverpool but English football has a massive drug problem and jibbing is becoming common place. Haven't seen it as much elsewhere so could be wrong but Madrid looked fine.

BBC 5Live dedicating the programme to the poor Liverpool fans. Its as if they are the only fans to have had a problem in a Euro match, ever. They conveniently ignored the batoning of Leicester fans sitting quietly in Madrid bars in 2017.

Apparently Liverpool fans climbing fences was because they were scared of the situation they were in :crylaugh:No other fans have these excuses made up for them. They are untouchable on the BBC.

Did Liverpool lose the match on the pitch or was it all the fault of the police?

There are now videos of the fences being scaled at the Madrid end.

They are not alone in that. Even our own were doing this the other week.

Yeh I know. We don’t have a history of being involved in disasters though do we. Then preach to all who’ll listen about it.

Thats the key difference

UEFA were implying that the main issue was the large number of fake tickets held by Liverpool fans.

("large" relative to the number of Real Madrid fans with fake tickets).

Which just begs one question ...

Why would a disproportionatly large number of Liverpool fans be in possession of fake tickets?

They did. Also been pointed out that the Real Madrid fan zone was next to the stadium so that meant a steady stream of their supporters coming through. Liverpool fan zone in the centre of Paris and thousands all at one time using the same train station/route to the ground.

I can believe there were some instances but comparatively far less - the fan zone has little to do with it, several hundred thousands without tickets has far more to do with it. Klopp encouraging the whole of Liverpool to travel is brain dead. You only needed to look at the comparative ends 20 mins in to see the problem. Sadly a minority of brain dead idiots ruin it for the lot of them. Won't reflect favourably on English football either sadly.

The fan zone has a lot to do with if you don’t set up check point ticket checks, have information regards timing and a well protected/managed route to the ground.

You have thousands of legitimate ticket holders being funnelled through small physical pinch points which slows down the crowds. That’s poor crowd management from the very start. Why didn’t the stadium last night run the same checks it does for other games (speaking to my boss who goes regularly with Wales Rugby)

Also what Liverpool did travelling in those numbers is no different to what Feyenoord, Rangers and Frankfurt have done in recent weeks (the latter doing it repeatedly over the last few weeks).
