I agree but I regret having to use the word ‘fans’. There will be plenty in Naples who are the same as me and you; but their fanatic groups are larger. Only have to look at the ages of those arrested to work out it’s not something they ‘grow’ out

Agree,i'm sure there a lot of great Napoli fans that you could have a pint and talk football with. But as you say the Real head cases are i'm sure in a minority, but a large minority.

Unfortunately it isn't, but our club pretends that it is. A ticket collection point in Naples would put our fans in serious danger. West Ham fans were attacked at their collection point in Zagreb this week and Naples will be much much worse.

Very sad. Suddenly, European football isn't perhaps as attractive as it should be. Whilst it may be irrelevant to my son and I as we don't have enough priority points etc to get a ticket, to go to an away European match with Leicester has long been an ambition. Napoli, although lovely in places can be a dodgy place to visit at times regardless of football.

Today some d**khead punched a kid of about 12 years old as we were walking out of Brighton station after the game.

we really do have some fans that just can’t behave.

I hope the two blokes chasing him caught him and gave him a good hiding.

I saw that, I honestly didn’t think he was that young until he instantly started crying the moment this guy hit him. We have some proper scum fans.

Who were the weakest; those who started off the violence?..

Am not surprised that they seem to deny that they were part of the culprits.

Whipping others with their own belts in within a city and a ground that they've possibly never been to before certainly not means by any stretch they are not the offenders and defending the 'weakest*' (*whatever that means) - sure..

Will be interesting to see if the Italia police will protect the away fans adequately in Napoli..be careful if going.

“Completely biased police” – Italian backlash over Leicester trouble, ultras ‘protecting weakest’

The run up to Leicester City’s match against Napoli in the Europa League last week was all about making sure players who had been in red list countries would be available.

Brendan Rodgers’ side drew their European opener 2-2, but many of the reports after the match focused on multiple arrests of fans following the away side. There was even much criticism in Italy of those who caused trouble in the travelling group.

Now, perhaps inevitably, there’s been something of a backlash, with the local English police being accused of biased towards the home fans, and targeting those travelling.

Emilio Coppola, a lawyer who has been assisting those Napoli fans who were arrested, has been quoted by Tutto Napoli as saying: “Despite a completely biased police, the people arrested will return home, the charges have all dropped, and despite the fact that we are left alone and in mercy of crazy behaviour we have put an end to our Leicester-Napoli experience.”

Napoli Piu, unsurprisingly, have some sympathy with the fans who travelled to support the club they cover, and say the story from everyone there was the same, that it wasn’t the fault of Napoli supporters.

An unnamed ultra is quoted as saying: “Those who reacted did so only to defend themselves and protect the weakest.”

The Leicester City version will surely be very different.

What a load of cr@p !! ..  everything I heard was the complete opposite ..  groups of tooled up men (in their late 20’s and 30’s) attacking any group they saw that might be Leicester fans ..  a few of my mates have cuts and bruises all over them from the bike chains and home made coshes and like I said before one got stabbed.

Not heard if the club have been charged for the Family Stand attacking the poor, weak Napoli fans? After all, that prat swinging his belt around only went over the tarp to protect himself from those nasty Leicester fans.

Pretty standard.  Most European press back their own police/ supporters, we are quite unique in that our own press go out their way to write negatively about English fans.

Interesting the claim that all charges have been dropped. Weren't they all remanded in to custody for a few days pending a court hearing on Saturday for affray?

Italians will all get off with their charges, always the same when travelling over to England from abroad unless you cause serious harm to someone (Sean Cox)

The one Leicester lad is likely to be sent down, Community Service and a banning order best case scenario.

Common for anyone abroad then, plead guilty, take the fine to the offenders and more money to the police end of year kitty.

Hope Alison has a conscious if she thinks it’s acceptable for people to go around looking to whack people with a belt

Alison Gurden also represented the disgrace of a human that attacked Sean Cox.

She has also done a lot of high profile stuff including Tommy Robinson.

She won't be cheap, and the fact that six pikeys can get her up to Leicester on a Saturday means only one thing: someone else is paying the bill. Perhaps Napoli, perhaps the criminals that run Naples.

Either way, it's another reason not to go to Napoli, don't give them the honour. Don't give them your money.  I truly believe this is one to avoid, there are some serious bad dudes orchestrating the belt wielding rat children.

Kind of new this would come up about Alison Gurden, she certainly doesn't shy away from defending controversial defendants .

Most of the Tommy Robinson types would be horrified to learn she also defended a woman that urinated on a War memorial .

She also does a lot of work in the States helping to get Murderers of death row .

One things for sure if you're ever arrested at the football, she's the person to call .

Do you have a link to this article? It could be fake news as I can't it online or any other article to back it up.

She retweeted it herself and so did a few other legit football legal pages.

Hahahahaaa if the Leicester fan hasn't been given the same lesser offence then that's ridiculous.

The Leicester guy should be looking for FLA representation himself. They really have shown up just how cavalier football policing is over the years. It's a complete racket.

Classic tactic by the Police charging the Italians with affray . They know it will never stick . But it scares most people enough that they will happily admit to a lesser charge and feel like they've escaped with just a fine .

This means fans quite often plead guilty even when innocent .
