Dundee Football Club can confirm that midfielder Sammy Braybrooke has left the club after being recalled from his season-long loan by his parent club Leicester City.

Sammy joined The Dee on the 28th August 2024 and during his time played eight times for the Dark Blues.

Everyone at the club would like to thank Sammy for his service and contribution to the club and wish him well for the rest of his career.

Big window for him now, he will be needed next year so getting a good loan is imperative.

Mid table league 1 or top league 2 clubs to guarantee minutes for me! I don’t think a relegation scrap in league 1 is the most nurturing experience.

league 2 didn’t harm Nelson

If he cant get in the Dundee team why are folks expecting him to be any good for us whatever league we are in?

As above Amad Diallo couldn't get into the Rangers team but has established himself at Man United. There have been many other loanees as well that have done well at their parent club after struggling on loan ie. Kane, Akgun last season.

Baybrooke is still young and talented, he still has every possibility of making it with us.

Problem is, will he have many takers in Leagues 1 or 2 after getting hardly any game time at Dundee?

Kane barely impressed here

Braybrooke like Alves is 20 and has time on his side.

Hope the two of them and Nelson have a big part to play in our future.

Somehow getting them both into League One playing regularly for the rest of the season would be brilliant, especially if we do go down

Just been on When You're Smiling with Owynn and he's said Ruud's confirmed he'll spend the rest of the season with us. Will be interesting to see what he makes of him.

Need to get Golding and Cartwright loans too IMO.

Perhaps RVN is looking ahead and prepared to stick with us if/when we go down. He needs to know what he’s got at his disposal so maybe wants braybrooke here and us in control of his development next few months.

Agreed, don't see him getting a chance. Don't mind the prospect of him having 2 weeks under Ruud to have a good look at him but unless he's considered 4th to 5th choice CM then it's a waste.

Possibly, I'd love us to use that Man Utd cup game to surround the proper 1st team with Alves and Braybrooke and have Monga and Evans on the bench to unleash. Relegation makes the likelihood of many of these players being needed as we'll be forced to sell with severe restrictions on buying and you're faced with the unknown in what they'll be like with those senior players left around them.

Maybe but I still think he would benefit more from 5 months of playing actual mens football and then he would still get about 1-2 months in pre-season with him

Possible that it’s obvious to them that he isn’t physically ready for men’s football and that he’ll spend the next few months working on his core strength with us.

he's probably the most like for like replacement for Winks isn't he? Also Hamza was being linked with a move away

If he’s keeping him it’s probably a good thing, he’s probably been told people think he could do a job for us in the championship and wants to take a proper look at him before deciding if we need to spend to replace Winks in the summer.

Apparently “honking” from reading a few Twitter posts from Dundee fans. Think he can make it at this level if he can’t at standard equivalent to probably league 1 here? Time will tell
