Vichai's Commemmoration - 27th October (Brighton @ Home)

Not sure donating to billionaires is quite the way to put it but I see your point.

I think a moment's silence is probably most appropriate. If they want to do something, I'm sure they'll let us know but family wishes need to be respected.

Yes it was just an idea and I know grief is a delicate thing. I'll contact the club and see what they say.

As with it being the first game on the date I think there might be some fans who will want to do something to pay their respects and commemorate those that were involved in the tragic accident.

Thanks for your response.

A flower display tribute outside the ground and them a moment's silence or applause during the game would be perfect IMO. Won't be able to get down myself but would love to contribute to a group fund to go towards it.

Top and his family don't need any gifts/donations from us. Probably the best thing we could do as fans is show our love and respect and have the blue flags waving all game and singing Vichai's name so he can hear it all the way up in the heavens.  :scarf:

Has it been confirmed the match is even on this date yet? I assume it will be with playing Sunday 24th and then the following Saturday but knowing the FA or whoever chooses these dates logic doesn't always prevail. Maybe the club itself doesn't want to play on that day because of the memories.

The club sent out an email today confirming the date and time.

Oh ye. I remember seeing this email but it obviously never sunk in I blame the lorry drivers because everything is their fault at the minute :D

It's not the lorry drivers fault, it's those know it all scientists I blame.

Unoriginal and empty gesture

It doesn’t need to be original and a minutes applause works better than a minutes silence in the city centre. Impossible for total silence. Quite a harsh reply to a fair idea that.

I think the ideas so far all have merit, the clapping was something that I thought anyone could take part in, if they wanted to.

Donations, another good idea, some people may not be able to afford it, but again a contribution to the Foundation may be what some people want to do.

A TIFO is a great idea, but can it worked out with the club and produced in time - IDK, but if it can, then great.

A floral wreath to go into the Memorial garden might also be a nice gesture?

Ultimately, it'd probably be good to have a mixture, plus other ideas so people can all engage in a way they feel comfortable to celebrate and remember Kuhn Vichai's work and achievements.

Yeah I think this is a good idea to have a mixture.

I have spoken to the club and they are going to find out what the family would like or are what they are ok with fans doing. Once I have an update I'll post it here.

What about a minute's applause on 60 minutes - his age?

This, and chanting the 'Vichai had a dream' song in the process.

It's going to be an emotional night. Any updates on fan involvement?

Nope. The club said they had passed my email on to someone within the club and they would get back to me. That was nearly a month ago…
