I don't think the fact we played poorly against one of the best teams in the league at the minute has helped.

It was like men against boys. Hopefully bounce back in the next few, the fact we could have got up to 6th with a win is a positive, after the next few games I think we will be back in the top 7/8 (if Brendan sorts himself out).

Doesn't excuse the lack of effort and running.

A system doesn't stop you been able to control a ball.

Soumare was poor today, just didn't seem to get the pace of the game

It was 3 and could have been 6/7

Men against boys

Defensively (as a team) we are the worst I’ve seen us in a long time

Nothing more to say other than the first half tactics were beyond baffling

Very poor today. Didn't even have a go. Set up to not lose to heavily. Midfield 2 was hopless. Rodgers has no idea what side to pick and the summer signings are looking like a waste of time as well. All in all a great afternoon.

So was the line up.

....if we were at the top of our game Chilwell and James would have been too busy, looking over their shoulders to keep getting at our backline!!!

Let us not start talking about this Chelsea team like we have about Man. City, they are beatable, we were just not at the races again today.

Big surprise to see Albrighton introduced after being so long out, Thomas must surely have been an option on the left, but deemed not good enough.

….why do you start every post like this!!!

If Chelsea are such a beatable side, they would have lost more than one game in the league by now.

This season’s Leicester City Football Club ain’t anywhere near to being close to the level of this season’s Chelsea side, even our best. What is this season’s side’s best, anyway? We haven’t done anything this year that can hold a candle to Chelsea’s run this season.

I'm pretty sure we would have...

I honestly don’t know what we do in training. Nobody wants the ball, nobody can retain the ball, our passing is awful. We don’t know whether to stick or twist when we’re pressing, square pegs in round holes all over the field, a manger too stubborn to accept he needs to change things that clearly aren’t working. It’s one big mess at the moment!

I don't think soyuncu can play in a 3, I would play with a back 4 with full backs, play with Barnes and lookman running the lines and either an extra midfielder or nacho and daka/vardy up front, forget the 3 at the back with wing backs.

Play players in their preferred positions and understand the limitations of the team

...was not comparing our selves with them, people eulogising over them, you are defeated before you get on the pitch, but they are a good team!!!

In response to your question again!!

My first post was in that format and I thought I would keep it that way as a matter of whimsy!!!

Why are people whinging about the line up when all week the same people had been sarcastically whining that they expect Madders to play because he’s Rodgers love child and that we should set up to counter attack.

So madders didn’t and we did with the front 3 set for fast breaks so typically Rodgers is called out for not playing Madders but playing Barnes & Lookman, jeez guys n gals make ya minds up

That was dreadful. Massive lack of effort from the players, didn't want to put in the hard work to compete, with the possible exceptions of Amartey and Albrighton. Tactically all over the shop, off the ball shape might as well have been a random pattern as opposed to any kind of formation. No cohesiveness in attack, misplaced passes all over the place, still conceeding the same pissing corner goal for about the 6th time this season, in almost exacty the same fashion as they did against Arsenal.

Dont see how we get a result against anyone at the moment, most opponents have at least one tall CB and the ability to put in one or more near post corners, that's pretty much all you need to do to get a result against us.

So Barnes is that stupid he cant follow instructions then.

...no just demoralised and confused as to why his manager has elected to put him in a role he has not been asked to play before!!!

In such an important game, it is a strange request.

He's been a second striker before? As a professional he should be able to cope with he change, he's actually looked decent there before. BR has made quite a few errors granted but he cannot simply be blamed for everything and the players get off scott free!

....not if he has been asked to play #8..!!!

NB.

Lookman asked to play the #8 role and Barnes to support Vardy, my mistake.

He wasn't! He was asked to play as a second striker and Lookman was asked to play as an 8 as per the BR interview on RL

Men against boys today. We really look like we’re going through the motions, and have been for a while.

I was hoping for an energetic, resilient performance but we got more of the same. Carbon copy of Arsenal at home, game over after 20-25mins. I said the in the pre-game thread that set-pieces were a concern today and BOOM! A floaty delivery from Chilwell and we can’t even defend it, it’s embarrassing.

Watford at home next week, give them a goal from a set piece and we’ll struggle to get anything from the game. Got a massive game against a poor Legia team first, hopefully we will show a bit more determination in that game as that really is win or bust as far Europa League is concerned.

Let's have it right, if he can't squeeze at least a win and a draw from Legia and Watford, we'll be looking at getting rid before he jumps ship anyway.

Today was pathetic. I didn't see players busting a gut for the manager today, nor against Arsenal. Too many 50/50 challenges lost and not tracking runners, bad signs.

I hope he can turn it around, but it's not looking good as much as it's grating for me to say.

Lets set something out at the outset. This was not our acid test. We were playing a team that have very different ambitions to ourselves.

For me, there are two extremely obvious narratives. Firstly. How far as a team we've fallen in the space of time Tuchel has taken over Chelsea. Secondly, what a top manager can change in a team.

Honestly, how far were we behind them today? Ironically, it was the first match this season I've enjoyed watching. Certainly not from a Leicester view point. Same old from us really. But the quality, unity, fight, togetherness, familiarity, intent, attacking display Chelsea graced the KP with. I'm sure at some point, a long while ago, we played with such vigour. It's a faded, distant memory, but that was once us.

The finer detail. We are so horrendously unbalanced. Its been said post in post out on here. Why do we persist in playing through. We've a keeper that if his distribution doesn't cost us, will almost certainly put us bang under pressure. We've two of three centre backs that are fundamentally centre backs. They are not ball carriers. They aren't ball playing defenders. The other, Cags, horrifically out of form, and is making Big Dan look like Pirlo with his passing ability currently. Wing backs that aren't wingbacks. It makes them look poor players. They're not. But being asked to play a role that doesn't suit will have this impact. We've a midfield today that is defence first. Zero creativity. Zero impetus. And to me, look limited in their ability. For what is perceived to be a "strength in depth" area of ours. God help us. Our only ray of light, can't get into the game due to the lack of service. Summarising we're playing a formation that highlights the weaknesses in every player. Square pegs in round holes is the only phrase that comes to mind.

Set pieces. Questioned this before. As have 100's of others. I've read we have a set piece coach on here somewhere... Can we get any worse? Useless.

Madders has to start. Yes out of form. But has more creativity even out of form that the entire team put together. He speeds up our play. Looks to create space.

Soumare. My god. One paced. Which is slow. In a battle, he looks great. Composure in situations, strong. How long does it take a player to pick the pace up of a league?

Can we pick a formation, learn it, familiarise ourselves with it, understand it and play it. Week in week out. Man City. Chelsea. Liverpool. West Ham. Even Everton to a lesser extent. Utd and us. Both hopelessly out of form. Are the two "bigger" teams that do not look like they have a scooby managing a game and roles. No coincidence here.

The only three highlights that can be taken from this for me.

Big Dan - What a strike. Where did that come from?! Followed up a couple of minutes later by a ill timed back heel back into our box. What a player. Secondly, seeing Ngolo again makes you appreciate the quality he is. And how blessed we were to have him for a season. Sheer brilliance. Worth the admission money alone. Finally, I see Watford are 2-0 up. Ole surely won't survive a defeat there. Door open.

I've said in other posts that Brendan's time is up. When was the last game that collectively as a team, we've played well? It certainly hasn't been this season. FA Cup maybe? Before that in the league? For the squad we've amassed, and progress we've made, this can't continue.
