So even when we play well it's because the opposition are dreadful?

Weve become the most entitled bunch of fans I've ever seen.

Not sure where I said that. I said Newcastle were the second worst side I’d seen this season.

We were good yesterday. Newcastle were also very bad.

Just seen the highlights. Maddison absolutely flopped for the penalty, not what you want to see.

But, he looked exceptional again, an absolute menace to Newcastle.

He’s showing Man U that he has what it takes to start for them.

I'm with Glenn Murray on this. Those type of fouls happen a dozen times every game. Almiron did it. Like it or not, it's how the game is played now.

You’ll see it constantly outside of the box in midfield. A penalty gives it opportunity to be slowed down and analysed. Personally I take issue with VAR slowing down and make penalty decisions on that basis. Football isn’t played at slow mo. Slowing it down can convince that actions are pre mediated

A player often tries to find a leg, arm or another part of an opponents body to fall over when they don't have the ball under control in space. Many 'fouls' are just two opponents tussling but the free kick is awarded to the one going to ground depending where it is on the pitch. Salah's 'penalty' being an example.

My first thought watching it back was that it was very Mo Salah at the weekend. Salah has no intention of using the ball and wants to get his body in position for contact.

Pretty much what Vardy used to be / is the king of, stick his leg in the right place to get the contact and go down

Could not care less, the amount of times weve been done over with soft penalties given against us. Swings and roundabouts

Sheff United and West Brom last season miles worse than Newcastle today. Which says something as Newcastle were dreadful.

I'd say sheff utd atleast tried and west brom were put of their depth. But that Newcastle side yesterday showed absolutley nothing to suggest they'd even be promoted again (I know they will) . They all looked like they'd rather be anywhere else and the little effort they did put it just made it all the more tragic. I'd back both those west brom and sheff utd sides to have beat then yesterday pretty comfortably.

Think it's swings and roundabouts ;)

We may have been done a lot with these types of penalties, don't think it helps the game that they're given

Looked to me like he was taking evasive action to avoid contact. Of course he may have exaggerated it a bit to win the penalty but that is not the same as diving. A leg was dangled out and he won a penalty. If this was Spain the locals would be celebrating his skill.
Good to see Maddison getting back to his best form. We have missed it. Alongside tielemans barnes Daka etc we have quite a potent and entertaining attack.

If its stated we played well it isn't, by and large that's been ignored.

Seriously we win by 4 goals, a clean sheet and some of you still find a reason to moan! Enjoy it for fuchs sake! If you can't enjoy a 4-0 win they maybe it's not the sport for you!

im not moaning. just pointing out that the performance wasn't that great and it was against newcastle. im not going to delude myself into thinking everything is ok now

I don't think a single Newcastle player complained though.

Not they thought it was a deffo pen, more like they know they get given in those circumstances these days.

If you’re entitled you need to think you’re entitled to something. Use a different damn word. Moron, cretin, imbecile, thunderous nob jockey, nob head. These are all fine, fine words with great pedigrees that you can use to describe the fanbase. But let’s not call people entitled unless we say what we think they’re entitled to. *deep breaths*

Anyway, great performance against the worst team in the league. I hope we can kick on from there. Barnes, Daka, Tielemans, KDH and Maddison look on great form even against much better opponents. Whether we can set up the team to get the best from Soumaré, Ndidi and Soyuncu in defence is another question.

By jumping into his leg!?
