Whys he been given the number 5 for this season if he's all but finished?

I said fitness wise it's not looking for for him that's all I said.

I just don't see a path back for him at this point.

I never saus he's retiring tomorrow!

The point still pertains. Why would the club give him the number 5 if they can see he's unfit.

It's turned out a really weird deal all round.

Ha ha very good ! I am sure that he will be very grateful for two years of free money.

Not weird when you see the link between Bertrand and Todgers son!

Again why did we sign him!

I watched him for saints v us only and from that I knew he was not good enough

slow and a poor defender.

He pals with Brendan's son...they both work for the same player agency

Yep

Nearly as bad as Pearson giving his own son a contract despite being absolute shit.

At least he was half capable in the 23s…

Yes, I saw some of the Southampton fans posts at that time on their fanzone, they all seemed to know that. We didn't it seems ?? Very poor of us.

Complete incompetence.

a multi million pound waste of money (one of many)  and those responsible should be sacked.

Agreed, but is that going to happen ?

This whole Bertrand experience has convinced me that it's right to stick to what I see rather than be swayed by the masses who only allow optimistic thoughts and opinions. There's nothing wrong with a healthy dose of realism when needed :D

Congerton somehow keeps getting jobs

rodgers would be happy with the sack and pay off

Susan and Rudkin have jobs for life!

it’s a industry like no other.

Torn on this one.

We slag him off and I include me in that, but most of us again including me thought it was a shrewd no brainer signing.

Flip side is that we are just fans. The board and recruitment team have more resources and knowledge to assess the value it would bring, or not bring in this case, so they arguably should have known better.

I thought it’d be decent to have some experience, I didn’t know he was handed an £80k/week contract though. Seems madness.

Some don't like that it seems ? Nothing wrong with optimism as long as it doesn't blind you to what is happening in reality. That does seem to be happening with some for sure

80k!!! Why on earth would we even think that he warranted that!

I really hope that's not an effort to defend the useless bastard

Even if it is, I would simply counter it with the fact that Djimi Traore won the Champions League.
