MadsEmil Posted 18 June 2022 Posted 18 June 2022 Trouble with AC Milan's takeover which is yet to be completed as well as their two main figures for recruiting in Massara and Maldini not having extended their contracts yet. Could sway him our way if AC can't sort out their own backyard. They're believed to have agreed personal terms with Renato Sanches and Sven Botman but both of them seem to be getting poached by others now because Milan couldn't submit an official bid. 1

However, they were never able to agree a fee with Lille and until now they had very little competition for the Portugal international, who had his heart set on San Siro. Things changed today with le10sport and then RMC Sport reporting Paris Saint-Germain had stepped in with the €30m asking price, double the €15m that Milan are offering. They also spoke to the player’s entourage and seem to have convinced him rapidly too. They face a similar problem with LOSC defender Botman, who again agreed personal terms with Milan, but Newcastle United are comfortably offering a much bigger transfer fee. Ultimately, there is only so much that player power can do when there is such a big difference between bids. The tension is growing behind the scenes at Milan, with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara still not signing new contracts and their deals set to expire on June 30. The club owners are in charge, which is still Elliott Management despite the imminent takeover from RedBird, and they will not raise the budget even after securing the Scudetto. Losing Renato Sanches after six months of work could be the breaking point for Maldini and Milan. Things definitely looking shaky at Milan. And if Maldini doesn't extend with them then that's that. 1 1

Sure but the OG cartel was already ****ing football before state owned clubs was even a phrase. They made it about money and are now crying when the real ****ing wealthy take the ball. There was only one state owned club plotting the downfall of the rest of us, with this Super league bollocks. The rest of them were traditional big clubs (plus Tottenham) and they had been plotting it for decades. I’d love to see a wage cap brought in but there isn’t much chance currently of that happening. The best we can hope for is smaller clubs become billionaires play things and kick the big clubs arses until they suggest it because they’ve fallen away. I’m convinced there will be a breakaway European competition soon. These wildcard slots wont be enough, if and when Newcastle are also Top 4 contenders. There isn’t enough room at the top and it’s hilarious. 5
