A complete unkown tbh.  I'm never sure you can gauge too much from pre-season matches but the CM looks like it may have been well recruited in.  We may miss Phillips very little.  Raph is the big one.  His replacement has had few minutes and tweaked his hammy.  We need another goalscorer in.

Bamford back is a huge plus.  He's just as important as those two players we lost but barely played last season.  I also think young Gelhardt will be a bg thing this season.  He's a fabulous talent.

If I was pushed, i'd suggest 14th/15 but total stab in the dark.

Gelhardt is going to be a brilliant player imo.

Think I read he is out of pre-season prep through the uncertainty, bit stressed out, which is fair enough

He should stay in beautiful Brugge with his Ma's cooking for a couple more years I reckon.

Not too arsed about this, honestly think we'd ruin him and he'd end up leaving in 18-24 months.

For the price as well, we were never going to be able to afford it.

Be interesting to see how AC get on in the CL.

Not sure we'll increase the offer.  The offer was accepted weeks ago.

The scenario here is that the player wants to go to Milan.  That's clear.  Who can blame him?  Great city, amazing old stadium and champions league football.

But, Leeds have had the largest bid accepted.  There isn't a shred of evicence that the player has rejected Leeds, just that he prefers Milan.  If that deal can't be concluded, the player then has the option to reject or accept ours.

If he declines then, he has rejected Leeds.  Until then, he hasn't.

Sounds similar to our situation with Kante, he really didn't fancy joining us, but nobody else was willing to stump up the cash.

If Milan don't cough up the money it's very realistic he joins you with a view to joining a bigger club within the next season or two.

It's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.

Clubs aren't in the habit of lodging bids for players, increasing them and keeping them on the table if the player has flat refused to go there.  It's frankly a bit of a daft suggestion.  It's perfectly normal and reasonable for a player to have a preference, especially when it's a club like Milan.

My gut - like with Raphinha and Barca - is that the three parties find a way to make it happen and he's a Milan player next season.  I just hope it resolves soon as it's a bit of a tiresome episode by this point.

If Milan dont stump up the cash, he'll stay in Belgium. Simple as.

It's turning into quite a bizarre situation. Milan don't want to pay the full asking price while Leeds are willing to give Brugge millions more than Milan.

But CDK wants to go to Milan over Leeds.....and seems like the Belgium media are turning on CDK.....looks like he'll have only Leeds as a option 😂

Sell Kele to Wolves now that Jimenez is out injured and theyre basically left without a striker

Get CDK

Think how we feel - this thread is 83 pages old!

Do we need Kele?

We dont have Europe next season, Vardy and Daka both arent going to the WC, theyve shown theyre more than capable of playing next to each other in our cup game v Liverpool, and we've seen multiple times last season that Iheanacho just isnt that guy when played as a single striker

He is our principal , or only left footed striker. His unpredictability is a major weapon. In tight matches he is always a serious goal threat. In fact his often clumsy touches can still bamboozle defenders then he will produce a moment of Messi like genius. Definitely one to keep for me.

Looks like he is probably pretty close to going Milan now

I think the key issue will be in the structure of the deal… Bruge aren’t going to hold onto him because of a few mill. The issue will be the way milan are trying to arrange it. probably paying them over 10 years or something daft… maybe a loan with obligation… who knows we’ve these italians

Would leave us too light in the striker department.

We are the only team in the division with 3 out and out strikers of such quality. We'd need a versatile forward to replace him (CDK profile)

I thought CDK was an attacking midfielder? Not an actual forward/striker.

It's hard to say what he is, but the point I was making is our 3rd striker is better served playing in a number of positions to ensure they actually get regular game time.
