Are Palace doing a Leicester? They win something, get into Europe, think they're bigger than they are.

And now, their good players have left or are leaving, managerial unrest, and then silly money to try to appease fans and manager. Palace paying £50m for Larsen is a step on the journey to Leicester land. Come and join us!

Freedman did a fantastic job there. Would take him here as Sporting Director but is currently getting the bag in Saudi.

Got to feel sorry for them and it is all very familiar. When your hard work gets pulled a part bit by bit it’s increasingly difficult to replace and match your own ambitions. 
 

They are targeting the wrong type of replacements or at least it looks that way. But that’s largely because they need an instant success.

They are getting money for the players leaving so they can replace them. Ours mainly walked away for free.

Yep . Even got £20 mill for Guehi from Man C when he can sign as a free agent now

Thats correct, but they accepted an offer and sold him for a PSR profit. We turn down bids for players who ended up leaving on a free.

It’s a bit odd that if the club is looking for loans that we are still not able to get it done until the final day.

 

i get that occasionally there are domino effects but not with every single deal. Half the time our last minute deals are for players that were available Jan 1st. 
 

Realistically we won’t have a manager in before the deadline and will need to just sign a striker upgrade on what we have.

Not sure he will even notice based on that interview. He’ll be on the pitch with Thai influencers when we win the papa John’s trophy

A rumour, even if it's bollocks, to get excited about for a few days would be nice. Nothing to get excited about at this club anymore, just points deductions and relegation fears after 6 months of turgid football.

Agree . I misspoke . He can sign for an overseas club after January and if he had waited until the summer he could have commanded a huge signing on fee for an English club as he would be free . Man City must have made it worth his while to sign now . Smart business for palace

They are similar to us in the fact that all their better players have been sold off to the established big 6, after winning the fa cup.  Player unrest, losing

their best ever manager, fans unhappy.

 

Another example of psr at it's finest.  (Big 6 bias and Man City can still spend what they like).

Loan fees drop dramatically on deadline day, a lot of clubs loaning players out risk not being able to register them or give them any football and therefore them not getting any football for 6 months (value plummets) so deadline day see's more flex on how much a club has to contribute to loans. 

 

Look at when the summer loans happened. Two of which came from the same agency!

I'd say we need a Left Back, Centre Mid and A striker.

 

Anyone got any ideas who we could pick up on loan? I'd be surprised if its anyone.

But they weren't anywhere near as far up the food chain as we'd got. Recruitment was crap yes, but our how thing was more about how will bottled it
